Treatment procedure<br />

Tooth 21 was extracted followed by<br />

immediate implant placement (Figs. 49-50).<br />

The gap was filled with FDBA and Xenograft.<br />

Gingihue was used as a temporary abutment<br />

and a temporary crown was constructed for<br />

this implant.<br />

Tissue punch method was done for the<br />

implant placement of tooth 22 to preserve<br />

bone without flap elevation. To create<br />

interdental papilla with good emergence<br />

profile, temporary abutment and crown were<br />

issued (Figs. 51-52).<br />

About the author<br />

Dr Kuoching Chen received his DDS from the Taipei Medical University,<br />

Taiwan, in 1987 and studied implantology at the Boston University<br />

Implant Center, Unites States, from 2000 until 2002. Currently, he is<br />

an adjunct associate clinic professor of Taipei Medical University and<br />

maintains his private practice in Taipei. He was also the president and<br />

board of diplomat committee, Academy of <strong>Dental</strong> Implantology Taiwan,<br />

R.O.C (ADI) in 2013, and at present, a consultant for ADI.<br />
