Wow! What a whirlwind long
weekend! It was a real buzz
to see so many beaming faces
walk through the gates – at a safe distance,
of course – to get their summer shop on
and catch up with friends and favourite
stallholders. It was refreshing to see spirits
undampened by so many months spent
at home and shoppers certainly made
the most of all the fair had to offer, from
the tastiest local food and catering to the myriad goodies displayed by a
wealth of exhibitors, both within the tents and across the showground.
After battling the dodgy weather for the first three days, we were
devastated to have to close the gates to visitors on Sunday, after a very
heavy downpour the previous night. It was so disappointing not to be
able to open for this extra day, but we hope that all those who were
able to attend on previous days had as wonderful a time as we did and
appreciated the taste of normality that we have all craved for so long.
The exhibitors all worked so hard to make their stands as gorgeous as
humanly possible and it was incredibly difficult to award this year’s Best Stand
accolade. There was stiff competition from the likes of Odyl, FRP Homestore,
OddBoo, Kagu, No. 3 and Gaby Redman – turn the page to see who ended
up taking home the prize of a free stand at the next Midsummer Fair.
