Dr. h.c. Adolf Ogi<br />
Adolf Ogi is a member of the Swiss<br />
People`s Party (SVP) and was its<br />
President from 1984-1987. He was<br />
a member of the Swiss Parliament<br />
and elected Federal Councillor from<br />
1988-2000. Adolf Ogi was President<br />
of the Swiss Confederation <strong>in</strong> 1993 and 2000. From 2001-<br />
2007 he was Under-Secretary-General of the United<br />
Nations and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General<br />
Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon on Sport for Development<br />
and Peace. He is currently active <strong>in</strong> a number of other<br />
functions <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the Advisory of the Swiss Economic<br />
Forum, Honorary Chairman of the Swiss Olympic Association,<br />
Honorary Chairman of the Geneva Centre of<br />
Security Policy, Member of the International Olympic<br />
Truce Committee<br />
Kerry Kennedy<br />
Kerry Kennedys’ life has been devoted<br />
to the v<strong>in</strong>dication of equal justice,<br />
to the promotion and protection of<br />
basic rights, and to the preservation<br />
of the rule of law. She established<br />
the Robert F. Kennedy Center for<br />
Justice and Human Rights <strong>in</strong> 1988 and she has worked<br />
on diverse human rights issues such as children’s rights,<br />
child labor, disappearances, <strong>in</strong>digenous land rights, judicial<br />
<strong>in</strong>dependence, freedom of expression, ethnic violence,<br />
impunity, and the environment. She has led over<br />
40 human rights delegations across the globe. At a time<br />
of dim<strong>in</strong>ished idealism and grow<strong>in</strong>g cynicism about public<br />
service, her life and lectures are testaments to the commitment<br />
to the basic values of human rights.<br />
Adriano Galliani<br />
Adriano Galliani was born <strong>in</strong> July<br />
30th 1944 <strong>in</strong> Monza. He started<br />
his career <strong>in</strong> 1975 as bus<strong>in</strong>essman<br />
of the company “Elettronica<br />
Industrale” produc<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>strument<br />
for reach<strong>in</strong>g TV signals and he cre-<br />
ated channels for receiv<strong>in</strong>g foreign TV <strong>in</strong> Italy. In 1982 he<br />
created “Italia 1” and <strong>in</strong> 1984 “Rete 4”. In 1986 Adriano<br />
Galliani became Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of “A.C. Milan”, a<br />
year later he became Vice President of the “Lega Calcio” .<br />
Adriano Galliani is now Vice Executive President and<br />
Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of “A.C. Milan”, President of “Milan<br />
Enterta<strong>in</strong>ment s.r.l.”, President of “Milan Real Estate<br />
S.p.A”., President of “Fondazione Milan Onlus” and<br />
President “di Categoria per la Serie A”.<br />
Arnaldo Pomodoro<br />
He is considered the most important<br />
<strong>liv<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Italian sculptor, and his work<br />
has won <strong>in</strong>ternational appreciation<br />
and fame as well. His works embellish<br />
important cities such as Rome,<br />
Milan, Tur<strong>in</strong>, Copenaghen, Brisbane,<br />
Dubl<strong>in</strong> (<strong>in</strong> front of Tr<strong>in</strong>ity College), Los Angeles, moreover<br />
<strong>in</strong> Mills College <strong>in</strong> California, <strong>in</strong> the “Cortile della<br />
Pigna” <strong>in</strong> the Vatican Museums, <strong>in</strong> the major museums<br />
worldwide as well as at the Kreml<strong>in</strong> and at the United Nations.<br />
He is well known most of all for his unique bronze<br />
spheres, the material he prefers for his works of art,<br />
which “break down” and open <strong>in</strong> front of the watcher who<br />
looks for the <strong>in</strong>ternal mechanism, <strong>in</strong> a contrast between<br />
the perfect smoothness of the shape and the complexity<br />
hidden <strong>in</strong>side it. S<strong>in</strong>ce 1954 he lives and works <strong>in</strong> Milan,<br />
near the dock of Porta Tic<strong>in</strong>ese. In 1995 he created the<br />
Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation dedicated to his work and<br />
to contemporary art.<br />
Carla Fracci<br />
Carla Fracci is the lead<strong>in</strong>g Italian<br />
baller<strong>in</strong>a of the last century, renowned<br />
for the high quality of her<br />
act<strong>in</strong>g. Carla Fracci was born <strong>in</strong><br />
Milan. She studied at the La Scala<br />
Ballet School with Vera Volkova and<br />
others, graduat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to the company <strong>in</strong> 1954. At La Scala<br />
she created Juliet <strong>in</strong> Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet (1958)<br />
