PATRON’S MESSAGE Underscoring Lord Somers’ vision was a belief that if we try to get to know those who are different from us, we can foster friendship, and empathy and understanding for others, which will in turn ‘promote social cohesion and heal divisions within our society.’ Despite all the decades that have passed, the original aspiration remains as important now as it was then. As Patron of Lord Somers Camp and Power House, I am keenly aware of the positive impact on the youngsters who participate in the camps. Through the promotion of inclusivity and service, the Camps help to build stronger individuals and, in turn, stronger communities. My husband joins me in congratulating and thanking everyone who supports Lord Somers Camp and Power House.
