What do you want potential participants to know about training?
Yoga can be accessible to anyone. Every class allows modifications for each
individual to choose a variation of the pose that works for them.
If you could be a professional athlete, what sport would you want to play?
I am not coordinated enough to be an athlete - which is why I love yoga - and
you don’t wear shoes in yoga :)
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
About Me
Ruthie believes in a holistic approach to health and fitness. She has a passion for helping
people find the joy that self-care, fitness, and nutrition can bring to their lives. Over the
past 12 years, she has worked with hundreds of clients with various backgrounds and
fitness levels, helping them realize accomplishments and acheive goals they once thought
impossible. Ruthie understands that life challenges can be hard to navigate and loves
to inspire, encourage and motivate clients. She spent many years as a deconditioned
and overweight person herself and has overcome multiple health issues. Going from
unhealthy to fit has given her insight into the physical, mental, and spiritual struggles
involved with true transformation. She is an experienced marathoner, kickboxing
instructor, running coach, group exercise instructor, and an ACU Kinesiology adjunct
professor. She teaches strength training, aerobics, marathoning, and walking for fitness for
grace, peace, and fitness. Grace for where you have been and what you’ve been through,
peace for the present, and fitness for a stronger, healthier future. Let Ruthie’s passion for
the transformative power of fitness and nutrition help you not only reach your goals but
About Me
Stephen began his fitness journey in
the 6th grade when he started playing
sports. Throughout middle school and
high school, he played football, baseball,
and ran track. Along with that, he was
consistently lifting weights, eating
healthy, and training to be the best
athlete possible. Throughout his time
training as an athlete, Stephen became
passionate about the process of muscular
growth and strength. Post-graduation,
Stephen continued to enjoy incorporating
fitness and health into his daily routine.
During Stephen’s junior year at ACU,
he decided to get certified and began
personal training at Abilene’s Crunch
Fitness, and he is now training at the
SRWC. Stephen is well-versed in personal
training and can assist with any goal you
aspire to achieve.
“People have different motives and
goals for going to the gym, but
everyone is driven by the desire for selfimprovement.”
