ADULT RESIDENTIAL 1979

A RESILIENT
50 YEARS

RESILIENT.
50 YEARS! The excitement of our 50th anniversary is tempered due to
the ongoing pandemic. It was a painful yet necessary decision to
have to cancel celebrations to preserve people’s safety.
I am so proud of Odyssey House. I am proud of our dedication to our
mission, showing up every day to help people change for the better,
all while being recognized as the best, no matter what obstacle
comes our way. This agency has survived innumerable challenges
over the past 50 years, but we are here and leading the State in what
we do.

ADULT OUTPATIENT 2021
This truly demonstrates the steadfast resilience of Odyssey House, our
staff, and the people fighting for their recovery. Of course, there will
always be new challenges, but I am humbled by how we stand
together, staying true to ourselves and the people we serve. I look
forward to the next 50 years and take comfort knowing that Odyssey
will remain resilient well into the future.
Warmest regards,
Adam Cohen
GROWING
& THRIVING
This year, Odyssey House has served 8,038
individuals, a 356% increase in people
served since 2010. That amount of growth is
staggering, and not surprisingly, many
community members are not familiar with
how large Odyssey House is. Currently
employing 444 people, we operate out of
the 27 locations shown above. We are also
proud to serve as a teaching campus for
interns from local colleges of social work,
nursing, psychiatry, and medical
professions.
Odyssey leadership works hard to ensure
employees are paid at competitive market
wages, receive a substantial health care
package, and participate in staff award
programs. Full-time employees are eligible
for tuition reimbursement and access to
loan forgiveness programs to support their
education. Odyssey House’s employee
culture has a strong sense of camaraderie,
family, and pride in our mission.
Odyssey remains steadfast in our
commitment to serving local Utahns
regardless of their background or financial
situation. We provide affordable services
that families don’t have to put themselves
into financial ruin to access. This year, we
have provided $1,033,671 in charity care
support to low-income families who fall into
coverage gaps.
PROGRAM
HIGHLIGHT
Odyssey House’s Adult Outpatient expanded into two locations (Sugarhouse and
now Taylorsville). Under the direction of Kate Coy and with the support of 41 staff, our
outpatient programming served 1,788 individuals in FY21.
Odyssey’s Adult Outpatient truly provides every level of care, with a full continuum to meet any need.
Services include (from the highest to the lowest level of care):
Day treatment 20 hours per week
Intensive Outpatient (weeknights)
16 hours per week
Prime for Life DUI education program
General Outpatient 5 hours per week
Intensive Outpatient (weekends)
9 hours per week
Individual/Couples Therapy
Adult Outpatient maintains specialized programs for Department of Workforce
Services, Intermountain Healthcare, US Probation, and Odyssey’s Voyager services.
One major focus for outpatient is trauma. We are very proud to have almost all of our
outpatient therapists EMDR certified, who make trauma a primary focus of client care.
