In August of 2019, P. Graham Dunn was sold by its
founder, Peter Dunn, to its employees in the form of
an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, otherwise known
as an ESOP. Peter and his family believed, “An ESOP
is our best tool for transitioning P. Graham Dunn from
one generation of leadership to the next…. It assures
a secure future and continuation of our values for those
that have shown dedication and loyalty to us.”
We knew that retaining the values Peter was referring to
would be essential to our success moving forward. It’s
those values that have not only driven and developed
this company into what it has become today, but more

interact with our customers, and present ourselves to
the industry.
With this in the forefront of our minds, our management
team began the process of articulating what a formal
mission and vision would look like for P. Graham Dunn.
Our goal was to craft a simple message that was easily
understood, but also captured the heart and soul of our
business - it needed to be easy to digest, memorize, and
repeat, but also deep in meaning. Once formalized, it
would become a reference point that would clarify
P. Graham Dunn’s purpose and drive our decision-making
processes moving forward.
For over a year, our management team bounced ideas
off each other, asked for input from employees, and
referenced other shining examples throughout the
business community. During this process we worked
to capture the essence of P. Graham Dunn and what
it had become over the course of the last 40 years.
At the same time, attempting to personify what

in regard to how it interacted with its employees,
customers, and community.
Today, we are thrilled to share this newly established
mission and values statement. Knowing at our core
that our purpose is to honor our Lord and Savior, and
to love one another in a similar regard, we hoped to
convey a message that captured this sentiment, but also
alluded to our artistic endeavors. We couldn’t think of a
better way to communicate the two, than through the
simple phrase - Crafted to Inspire. Utilizing the letters

to upholding.

to be as accurate and appropriate as we do, and we
look forward to each of you holding us accountable
to it in the years ahead.
“
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind. This is the great and f irst commandment . And a second is like it : you
shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
