Thank you for your support on Saturday. It was a 

tough lesson for us, so it’s about learning from the 

experience, keeping positive and doing everything 

we can to bounce back 

on Tuesday night. 

I want us to control 

possession a lot better 

because we didn’t hit 

the levels I know we 

are capable of against 

AFC Bournemouth. We 

were disjointed and 

well beaten by a very 

good side on the day. 

We need to compete 

much better against 

Nottingham Forest. 

I don’t think we 

can have too many 

complaints because 

we come into this new 

fixture after playing 

against the best side we 

have faced so far this season. It's difficult to judge 

our performance from Saturday because it was like 

playing against a Premier League team, but now we 

need a response. 

Tuesday is another chance for us to get that win 

at home. I strongly believe we can do that against 

a Nottingham Forest team which has put together 

some good results under Steve Cooper in recent 

weeks. He has brought a lot of experience and we

more. We feel so much for him: he’s such a hard 

worker, he’s been through a lot and he has always 

remained so dedicated. He’ll be supported by 

everyone here while he 

recovers and looks to get 

fit again.

Striker Grabban has come to form as 

Nottingham Forest look to recover 

from their rough start to the 

campaign. 

The 33-year-old forward has found 

the back of the net five times this 

season, with his latest strike coming 

in the form of a late winner against 

Blackpool on Saturday. 

That was his fifth goal from seven 

appearances. He has now scored in 

three successive matches helping 

Forest win their last three games 

heading to Ashton Gate. 

Grabban has been a proven 

goalscorer through much of 

his career which started at 

Crystal Palace in 2005, having 

represented the likes of Millwall, 

AFC Bournemouth and Norwich City 

before he joined Forest from the 

Cherries for a reported £6million fee 

in 2018.

disappointed us the most

table, having belief in each 

other and being more 

aggressive. That’s what 

we lacked at the weekend, 

so we need to be on the 

front foot and make it a 

really difficult game for 

Nottingham Forest. 

“We’re at our best when 

we work really well 

together and it’s the 

responsibility of everyone 

to do their jobs. It doesn’t 

have to be pretty. Of 

course we hope to play 

well and score a lot of 

goals, but if we win 1-0 in 

a scrappy game I’ll take it.”

The Robins Foundation has 

launched a new competition 

aiming to inspire kids to get 

creative with their poetry. 

The competition launched on National Poetry Day 

(October 7th) with hundreds of school children in 

the local area. 

Working with our 15 partner schools, the schools 

are currently getting their Year 5 and 6 students to 

write poems based on the theme of ‘Ambition’. 

The best poems from each school will be judged 

by a special select panel, with the winning poem 

to be published in a future edition of THE ROB NS 

Matchday Programme. 

This is expected to be towards the end of 2021 

and the Foundation will invite the winning poet 

to that Bristol City home game for a half-time 

presentation.
