Friday night of each month. The group were getting<br />
closer to starting a third patrol on the fourth Friday of<br />
each month and then COVID hit, and everything stopped.<br />
Hayley added, “The pandemic obviously stopped us from<br />
going out as we couldn’t put our volunteers at risk. We<br />
are now in the process of starting our re-training and are<br />
hoping to be back out on the streets at the end of this<br />
year or the beginning of January.<br />
“We run largely on donations from the church and with<br />
services being stopped and starting to come back slowly<br />
we have felt a real financial hit, any donations or financial<br />
support would be greatly appreciated.”<br />
The aim for the future is to recruit and train more<br />
volunteers, so the team will be able to increase their<br />
patrol to go out every weekend. The group is also looking<br />
to launch their school initiative and are in talks with local<br />
schools to be able to work in schools and provide a similar<br />
support service to pupils.<br />
