INSTALLATION
CONDITIONS
1
ADDITIONAL WORK
Following our template visit we may have asked
you to carry out some additional work. This
additional work is vitally important and had
been requested to help ensure a smooth
installation as well as give the work surfaces a
foundation to last a lifetime.
Please make sure that the requested work has
been carried out as failure to do so could result
in an aborted installation visit of which is
chargeable.
If you have any questions surrounding any
requested additional work, please feel free to
contact us.
2
REPRESENTATIVE
Please ensure a representative is on-site during
the installation of the work surfaces.
Whether this is the client, kitchen fitter, designer
or the like, they must be authorised to inspect
and sign off the completed installation.
A representative doesn't have to be present for
the duration of the installation but it is advised
in case our installation teams have any
questions or the client has any suggestions.
3
ACCESS
Please make sure all routes to the kitchen are
clear and safe. Worktops are heavy and can
weigh 100KG/M2. It is vitally important that the
installation team can carry the work surfaces
into the kitchen safely.
Please also make sure there is ample parking
for a large van and any parking permits are
ready for the arrival of the installation team.
Please also ensure that no other trades are
working in the kitchen who could obstruct our
installation teams.
Installations can take between 2-8 hours
depending on the installation and level of work
required on-site. Please bear this in mind.
4
DISCONNECT
If temporary worktops have been installed post
template, please make sure these tops have
been removed prior to our installation visit.
Our installations teams cannot remove or
dispose of temporary worktops.
Please also ensure that all sinks, taps and hobs
have been disconnected preceding to our
arrival.
Our teams do not have the tools or
qualifications to undertake plumbing or
electrical work therefore it is your
responsibility to arrange the disconnection of
appliances which affect the installation of the
work surfaces.
5
WALLS
Any tiling in areas around the work surfaces
must take place after the surfaces have been
installed. Do not tile the walls between our
template and installation visits unless you have
left ample room for the work surfaces to be
installed.
The same applies to plaster; any plastering
work should be carried out post-installation.
In the event of plasterwork being disturbed
during the installation, all costs associated with
making good are the clients responsibility. The
same applies to any disturbance caused to the
paintwork of the walls.
6
TRADES
Where other trades follow the installation, it is
the responsibility of the client to cover the work
surfaces with protective sheeting.
Marble Building Products (Yorkshire) Ltd. are
not liable for any damage caused to the work
surfaces after our installation visit.
Upon request, we can provide protective
sheeting for the work surfaces.
Items such as dust sheets, cardboard and jiffy
foam can be used as protection.
The client must advise other trades that
standing on the work surfaces is not advised.
7
ADHESIVES
To allow joints and sealants to harden and set
correctly, we strongly advise leaving the work
surfaces alone for 24 hours.
This includes the connection of sinks, taps and
appliances as any movement in the work
surfaces could cause a break in the joints or
seals. Please also avoid creating any dust in
the room as this can settle on wet sealants,
ruining the standard of finish.
After 24 hours, you're safe to use the surfaces
as intended.
8
INSPECTION
Upon completion of the installation, please
thoroughly check the work carried out before
signing off the job.
In the unlikely event that you later find damage,
shortage of goods or anything which renders
the work surfaces as unacceptable, please
inform us within 24 hours.
If you find any deficiencies in the service
provided, you must inform us within 3 days of
the completed installation.
Further information can be found at the bottom
of the delivery note.
