Purity of fruitobvious in many wines with layers of fruit, stalk and oak tannin, bunch, lees work and a whole lot of otherthings happening. The layers are the interesting point of difference in the way we judged the wines. Thegold medal wines were brought together to form a final blend in a thoughtful and balanced way. Whilelots of wines showed obvious reduction and advanced characters which held them off progressing anyfurther, the best wines were shining lights that were elegant and medium bodied.Page 46
