Recorder Workshop with Hans-Dieter Michatz
The date was the 11th and the 12th of June:
location OTC. We were called to G31 for a
gathering of recorder enthusiasts by our highly
respected leader Hans Dieter Michatz. Our
mission- to improve our musical skills beyond
what we imagined possible.
As well as being told how important scales are
(again) we learnt new techniques like ‘dwarf
mouth’ and how to find our diaphragms with
the help of a piano stool. He showed us the
importance of a really steady air stream and
how this helped us to play fast passages.
