PR leading lady
Heading up her boutique brand communications consultancy, Louise Hunt is a respected
name in PR and marketing - specifically in the property industry. She’s is a strong, bold and
creative strategist with a spontaneous laugh, limitless energy and a head for real estate.
Twenty years ago, Louise opened
the doors to Hunt PR. She did so
with supreme confidence, because
her personal and geographic history
placed her at the heart of what she
does best.
Not only was she raised on the shores
of Umdloti, but her family history
stretches back to the 1900s to Squire
Samuel Bacon, a pioneer of this
prestigious seaside town. The North
Coast is in her blood.
Growing up, Lou’s parents, too,
had a notable influence on her
understanding of real estate, from
negotiating a deal to appreciating
architectural aesthetics, beautiful
design and the value of identifying
a good investment. Today, she
shares this love for, and instinctual
understanding of, the vagaries of this
ever-changing landscape.
While Louise’s public relations
expertise is not limited to property,
she’s undoubtedly played a leading
role in writing, sharing, telling and
bringing the dynamic story of
the North Coast and many of its
catalytic developments to the wider
public. She has built long-standing
relationships with leaders in this
industry, respected figures in the
property world and individuals
within the communities in which
they operate. She’s launched
developments and precincts and
documented the extraordinary story
of urban development as Umhlanga
Ridge and other nodes transformed.
Recently, she’s contributed towards
crafting a unique sense of place
with acclaimed developers, Collins
Residential, in a series of prestigious
developments and her consultancy
was appointed by managing broker, Andrew Thompson, to represent eXp South
Africa - one of 18 countries in the world’s fastest growing and largest property
brokerage in history.
With her knowledge of North Coast residential property in particular, we asked
Lou to share her thoughts on the future of our own burgeoning ‘gold coast’. “The
projected growth for the region is extremely exciting. Sustainable, responsible
development that honours the environment while connecting communities is
key,” she muses. “Many of new developments taking shape have a fresh niche
offering - there’s a home, a landscape, an ethos to suit everybody’s pocket and
vision for their future. The past few years have highlighted our need for a reset, a
