first issue of Top Teen! 

This relaunch has been an 

epic and fantastic journey! Thank you for 

making this issue possible. 

I first created the idea of Teen Look two 

years ago and had no idea what would 

happen. I am so proud of how far the 

publication has reached and how many 

lives it has touched. This imprint is set to 

follow the same path laid before it; creating 

a safe and fun space for teen models 

and creatives to showcase their talent. 

To form a community that will forge new 

friendships and creative collaborations. 

I've seen that happen on the Instagram 

pages, seeing the comments and support 

given is truly uplifting. 

Another issue of Top Teen is planned as 

a Summer Special. So if you like what you 

see here, be prepared for more! There is 

a handy and easy submission form on the 

website, teenlook.ca. It will be the best way 

to send your submissions in for the next 

issue. It conveniently keeps track and organizes 

them to ensure no one is left out. So 

please, use it, thank you!

a specialty engineering school that is

that would put any marketing guru to shame. 

She is the hardest working teen you will find. 

She loves to do her own make up, and does it 

very well. Her natural posing combined with 

her beauty has photographers gasping in disbelief 

when she looks directly into the lense.

Faith is a 14 year old teen model from 

the Southwest Florida coast. She currently 

models for YMEA modeling, Patti 

Falconer Agency out of Alberta, Canada, and Giant 

Pixel Photography. Faith is a competitive cheerleader 

for Top Gun Allstars, and has been involved 

in Allstar Cheerleading for the last 7 years. This 

year she joined her high school cheerleading team 

as well.Faith strives to be the best role model 

she can be for the younger athletes at her gym, 

and for her peers at school. Her favorite activities 

outside of the gym and school are boating, swimming, 

traveling and making new goal-oriented, like 

minded friends. Faith is a die hard Marvel fan and 

her favorite actor is Tom Holland. Aside from Marvel- 

her favorite movie is anything that stars Tom 

Holland. Faith loves all genre’s of music from the 

70’s to today. On her way to cheer practice- you 

can typically find Faith jamming out to “Hold On” by 

Wilson Phillips. 

In her future, Faith aspires to be a neurosurgeon. 

The medical field has always been an interest for 

Faith and became more prominent after watching 

the entire series of Grays Anatomy. In the past 

several years of competitive cheerleading, Faith 

has had to overcome several injuries and broken 

bones. Her experiences have sparked her curiosity, 

and allowed for her to explore all aspects of self 

care, medically and holistically. 

Faith has a spunky, happy personality. Wherever 

she goes she is bound to bring a contagious energy 

to the room. During her photo shoots, Faith 

will commonly make silly faces, and keep the room 

entertained. Aside from being the comedian in the 

group, Faith is a fierce friend. She will always be 

the person in your corner rooting you on, and will 

not tolerate anyone being bullied. Faith’s words to 

live by are “Everything you need to accomplish your 

goals is already in you

Andrea is a passionate young artist 

with a background in competitive 

dance, an emerging model and actor 

from Nobleton, ON, Canada. 

A French Immersion student, Andrea is hardworking 

and dedicated in everything she does, from 

school, to dance, to acting and modeling, to sketching 

and learning how to cook. 

Outside of school, Andrea typically spends most 

of her afternoons and weekends at the dance studio 

(Canadian Dance Unit @canadian_dance_unit) 

training in a multitude of genres, including ballet, 

jazz, tap, acro, hip-hop, lyrical and contemporary. 

Now during lock-down times, she continues to train 

via zoom taking regular group and private classes, 

as well as many ad-hoc combo classes from various 

reputable North American choreographers. 

Andrea fell in love with dance with her very first 

ballet class at the age of 3, and has been actively 

pursuing her passion ever since. She has grown 

into a talented, driven and hardworking performer 

with high ambitions in the Entertainment Industry. 

Aside from many regional and national competitions 

under her belt, Andrea was also part of 

National Team Canada Dance (@teamcanadadanceofficial) 

2018 and travelled to Warsaw, Poland 

to compete at the World Dance Championship (@ 

idoworlddance) in Ballet and Jazz where she contributed 

to 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals 

in the Children’s Division. In the summer of 2020, 

she took to the world stage again, as part of the 

Virtual World Championships for Performing Arts 

(@wcopaofficial, @wcopa.team.canada), qualifying 

as a semi-finalist and bringing home a Gold Medal 

for Canada in the Solo Dance Category with her 

contemporary solo Spiegel

While Andrea trains 

competitively in dance, 

her true passion is performing 

for an audience 

and bringing art to life through dance and acting. In 

December 2019, she performed at The Meridian 

Hall with the Toronto International Ballet Theater 

(@torontoballet) in The Nutcracker, along renowned 

stars of the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre. Earlier that 

summer, Andrea participated in the Toronto International 

Dance Festival (@tiydf) and Canada International 

Youth Dance Festival with a Jazz Solo Performance 

titled Perfidia, choreographed by Kassandra 

Sciacca (@sciaccakon). 

Andrea is just as passionate about acting as she 

is about dance, and is confident that her journey as 

an actress is just starting. She has recently signed 

with The Agency Talent Management in Toronto (@ 

theagencytalentmgmt), represented by Aleksandra 

Vujicic and Marilyn Misaljevic, and is actively working 

on her acting skills, training with Armstrong Studios 

(@armstrongacting) in Toronto, as well as attending 

various industry workshops, taking advantage of 

their zoom options. 

In December 2020 Andrea debuted with a lead 

role in the short film “A Dance with Cinderella” produced 

by a local teen production company, With 

Grace Productions (@with_grace_productions). 

With an artistic heart and love for everything beautiful, 

Andrea is a proud supporter of all things Canadian. 

She is happily promoting several local business

her portfolio. She has been featured in 

several online and print magazines to date, 

such as Inspiring Teens Magazine, More Than 

Dancers, Dent Model Magazine, Ivy, Lemonade, 

and Teen Look Magazine (twice). Being a 

cover model was always Andrea’s modelling 

dream and she is grateful and humbled by this 

experience with Top Teen Magazine. 

Andrea’s hope is that her hard work and 

dedication can serve to inspire today’s youth 

to do the same in the pursuit of their dreams.

As a mental health advocate partnering 

with @lovemymindyxe I share mental 

health resources and hope to inspire 

teens to make positive choices. I have recently 

began leading a mental health initiative at my high 

school which has allowed me to share the importance 

of self-care and mental health with my peers. 

Through my love of dance, musical theatre, performing 

and song writing, I have gained valuable experiences 

and have learned from talented mentors 

who have inspired me to want to make a difference. 

Having something that I am passionate about and 

sticking to it contributes to a healthy mind. I find 

that tuning into my passions helps me feel like I 

have a purpose which is so important. 

As a cast member in the Saskatoon Expressions, I 

have toured schools and performed at many events, 

sharing material that often contains powerful messages 

of inclusivity and positivity. This experience 

has helped shape my artistic vision and give me the 

confidence to speak out to address issues that I 

see affecting teens. 

Many teens struggle with mental health, trauma, 

peer pressure, and bullying, even though we may 

not always be able to see it. Through my song, Save 

Me, I wanted to encourage teens to reach out to 

one another and to spread the message of how 

important it is to be kind. No matter what we are 

going through, no one is truly alone, and better days 

are always on their way. 

Being a teen is difficult, and especially during 

the isolation that we are feeling due to Covid. Now 

more than ever it’s important to find a positive 

mindset. I feel that consistency is key and includes 

things like getting the right amount of sleep and exercise 

and maintaining a healthy diet to help your 

mind and body thrive!

Conchita was one of the most famous female bullfighters whose grace 

and style was unequelled - making her debut in 1938 at the age of 16. 

“ 

Conchita Citron, the lady bullfighter, therefore is a very great rarity indeed. Her record stands as a rebuke 

to every man of us who has ever maintained that a woman must lose something of her feminity if she seeks 

to compete with men. Conchita competed. Nobody was ever more perfectly femine, and she triumphed absolutely 

in the most flamboyantly masculine of all professions.

in 1922 in Antofagasta, in 

northern Chile, and at the 

age of three, she and her 

family then moved to Lima, Peru, 

where she grew up, learning to ride, 

and began her career as a bullfighter. 

She first fought in public in the Plaza 

de Acho, in Lima, in January 1936. 

On July 31, 1938 she made her debut 

as a novillera, also in Lima. This event 

established her as a professional rejoneadora, 

a bullfighter riding a horse, 

a rare (but not unprecedented) honor

for a woman. After a trip to Portugal, she was 

invited to perform in Mexico. She made her 

Mexico City debut at the Plaza del Toreo on 

August 20, 1938. She failed to kill her bull, but 

nevertheless was a great hit with the crowd 

and the critics. She was reported to have 

“caused pandemonium in the stands”. 

In those days it was not lawful for a woman 

to bullfight on foot, so she remained on 

horseback, but was able to find ways around 

the laws. Performing on foot at charity events 

not open to the public. 

The most dramatic moment of her career 

was in Spain, 1949, when she defied the

I didn’t think I was, but as I get older, I find myself 

looking back at the entertainers of the past 

and how they influenced life, music and cinema. 

I was randomly browsing Elvis movies on 

Prime and YouTube to see what was available 

and I came across “Fun in Acapulco” originally 

released in 1963. I was instantly smitten with 

Elsa Cárdenas, who played the Lady Bullfighter, 

Delores Gomez. Her strength and courage were 

juxtaposed with her beauty and femininity. One 

of Elvis’ songs in the film is “The Bullfighter Was 

a Lady” and it tells the tale of bull who is in love 

with the beauty of the bullfighter, who coincidently 

is a lady. I was smitten by the whole idea 

right from the moment I saw Elsa and heard the 

song. I was moved and inspired to write my own 

story based on what I felt. I want to share that 

here, and I hope you too will fall in love with the 

romanticism of the past. 

I want the main focus to be on the life of a 

young girl, who at the age of 16, was so incredibly 

brave and started a journey that left a shining 

mark that can be an inspiration for all teens to 

take the courage to step into their own ring and 

follow their dreams.

Conchita retired from the arena in 1950 and 

married and having six children. She spent 

her years as a dog breeder and writing; most 

notably, "Memoirs of a Bullfighter." first published 

in 1968. She passed away in 2009 at 

the age of 86.

The morning sun rose over the 

great Plaza de Toros. It was 

a perfect day, ready to bring 

forth the cheering and vivacious crowds 

to the bullfight. - A tradition that is centuries 

old, a tradition filled with pride and 

courage. 

All were coming to see Pedro, one of 

the most feared bulls ever introduced in 

the arena. Normally the bulls don’t live to 

fight again, but Pedro was the strongest 

bull that had ever been challenged in the 

bullfighter’s ring. In the previous match, 

he put on such an impressive display that 

the crowd petitioned to let him live. Unfortunately, 

his challenger was not as fortunate, 

suffering cogidas, being gored so 

ferociously that the brave matador was 

carried out, alive, but unable to continue. 

The officials knew there was much value 

in this bull, and the people would be eager 

to return to see who would be brave 

enough to step into the ring with him. It 

must no doubt be the bravest matador 

who would put his life in the way of this 

beast. A man with the skills not only to 

match the strength of Pedro but also to 

surpass and outwit him. 

Dust shook from the wooden door of 

the chequero, this pen would not hold Pedro 

for long. The deafening roar of the 

crowds shouting for the release of Pedro 

reached far into the streets surrounding 

the arena. Eyeing the door, Pedro snorted 

loudly, ready to face whomever waited on 

the other side of the barrier. He would do 

the same to this fighter as he had to the other. 

Today, Pedro knew what to expect and 

was ready more than ever. The puny banderillas, 

the dart tipped flags that had 

been thrust into his shoulders, had barely 

scratched him in the last fight; he was 

healed and prepared. The matadors didn’t 

have any chance with him. Pedro began to 

stir as the chains holding the door rattled. 

His breathing grew deeper. He would not 

play with this matador - no, the kill would 

be swift and sure this time. 

The brightness of the sun broke through 

the door as it slowly opened. Pedro was 

momentarily blinded, but he shook it off 

and strode out into the arena, hearing 

the crowd roar - he was magnificent and 

proud. His loud snorts were a greeting to 

the cheers as he pawed at the yellow organic 

sand beneath his massive hooves. 

The light was still in his eyes, but as he 

moved to his left, the great walls of the 

arena blocked the glare, bringing into 

view the matador in the middle of the ring. 

The matador stood with a confidence 

and courage that Pedro had never seen 

before. The poise was different from the 

other fighters; the curves and shape of 

this matador were unfamiliar. But, there 

was no better time to test his foe, and Pedro 

began his charge, ready to end this 

quickly. The matador stood solidly in 

place, holding a large colourful silk capote. 

It was whispering in the breeze, calling 

Pedro. The mighty bull was now just feet 

away, but still, the matador was unmoved. 

The crowd cheered both in eager anticipation 

and terror. Then Pedro saw - Her eyes. 

The deepness of the black and the shape 

of them was intoxicating - the bullfighter 

was a lady. 

Pedro faltered and almost tripped at 

the sight he beheld. The matadora smiled, 

causing Pedro’s heart to skip as she deftly 

turned. He came to a stop twenty feet 

past her as the crowd grew silent in unexpected 

awe. Delores was the matadora. She 

stood upright and proud with her back 

to Pedro but now she slowly turned her 

head over her left shoulder to gaze back 

at him. Pedro snorted and was confused 

by the change of circumstances. He could 

not fight her - there was no possible way 

he could bring pain and suffering to the 

beautiful lady that stood before him. The 

crowd sensed the change of the spirit in 

the bull and began to murmur, “What is 

this? Has Pedro become el manso!” Pedro 

was definitely no coward, and hearing the 

boos and taunts from the crowd caused 

his anger to rise. Delores didn’t falter at 

hearing the chants from the crowd; she 

turned and flourished her cape in a grand 

gesture to capture Pedro’s attention. Her 

cuadrilla, the men on the field who were 

there to assist her, rushed forward, ready 

to provoke the bull and stir his wrath, but 

Delores waved them back. 

Pedro’s attention was on them now, 

and these men he would hurt. One of 

the three banderilleros had his back 

to the bull, so Pedro charged. The 

crowd instantly erupted in fanatical 

cheers at seeing the return of fury 

and killer instinct in the bull. Carlito, 

the unaware banderillero, quickly 

looked up and saw the imminent 

danger and ran to the edge of the 

ring, leaping up in the barest of time 

as Pedro’s massive head smashed 

hard into the wooden barrier, ripping 

splinters from the boards 

with his horns. The crowd cheered 

in uncontrolled fervour as the dust 

billowed, and the shock of the blow 

rattled the walls. Carlito looked up 

from the dirt where he had fallen 

in his escape. He watched in fear as 

the shockwave of the impact hit him, 

unsure if the thick wood would keep 

the ferocious beast back. The barrier 

held, but something did fall. There 

was a bouquet resting atop the wall, 

perhaps placed carelessly by some 

adoring fan. The flowers landed on 

Pedro, and he barely felt them even 

as a small single flower came to rest 

on his broad shoulders. Maybe this 

was his plan all along. 

He turned back to face Delores 

and moved quickly again towards 

Conchita Cintrón and her cuadrilla in 

the bullring of Santa Maria la Real de 

Nieva - 1948 


TER WAS A LADY 

her, quick enough to rouse the 

crowd, but not to lose the flower 

that was unseen by all except Pedro. 

Delores remained in place and 

lowered her head in anticipation of 

the imminent threat that rushed her, 

holding her cape, ready for the pass. 

But Pedro suddenly stopped, and at 

the same moment, he lowered his 

head, and the momentum caused 

the flower to float off of his neck, 

landing at Delores’ feet. No one was 

close enough to see the flower fall, 

and Pedro looked up into Delores’ 

eyes again, and he saw her. There 

was trust and understanding in 

those beautiful eyes and her smile 

spoke all the words Pedro needed to 

hear. 

The crowd was silent and confused 

again. They came to see the 

magnificent display of Pedro but 

were shocked and unsure at the way 

the events were playing out. Pedro 

sensed this, as did Delores, and they 

both knew what had to happen. It 

was time to put on the great display 

of courage and power of both the 

bullfighter and the bull. 

Delores backed away and held her 

cape ready, taunting the bull. Pedro 

once again pawed deeply into 

the sand. The crowd’s unease and 

disapproving jeers slowly turned 

to excited clamour at the signs of 

the real fight about to begin. Pedro 

charged with renewed fury causing 

the loudest cries of delight from the 

crowd thus far. Delores’ skill was 

unmatched by any previous matador; 

she performed the tightest of 

passes, allowing his razor-sharp 

horns to pass by her legs by a mere 

inch. She felt the passion in Pedro’s 

attacks but knew there was no intention 

to do her harm, and she 

used that trust to draw Pedro even 

closer. It was a dance between bull 

and bullfighter that no one had ever 

witnessed before. The crowd was in 

such a fervour that the cheers never 

stopped, and the volume of their 

cries and praise was ever-increasing. 

But now the time has come. It was 

the Suerte de matar, the third and final 

act of the bullfight. Delores changed 

her cape to the red muleta, ready to execute 

her tandas, a series of specialized 

passes. Pedro was growing tired, but his 

passion gave him the strength to continue. 

He allowed the banderillas to be placed as 

was customary in the second act. It caused 

him little pain, and the crowd expected it. 

Still, he could sense that it was something 

Delores did not like to see, but they both 

knew it was part of the performance. The 

arena shook with roaring applause as the 

two continued their elaborate and skillful 

dance in the ring. Not once did Pedro 

cause even the slightest of scratches to 

Delores’ beautiful and graceful form. In 

return, she made Pedro look as fearsome 

and impressive in his attacks. The respect 

and admiration between the two were 

great and equal. 

The eagerness to see the final act come 

to an end left the crowd seething in anticipation 

but also in doubt about the fate 

of Pedro as he had performed even more 

admirably this time than in his previous 

match. Surely, Delores would spare him at 

the end - he was too magnificent. 

The arena fell into complete silence the 

Conchita Cintrón greeting her adoring fans. 

Mexico - 1940 

moment Delores brought her sword up 

high, preparing Pedro for the kill. Pedro 

began his final charge, and at the moment 

Delores lined up the sword, ready to 

thrust, she dropped it to the sand in dramatic 

fashion. She then simulated the kill, 

touching Pedro on the shoulders with her 

empty hand as he charged by. The crowd 

exploded into thunderous cheers and applause, 

throwing hats and flowers into 

the ring in glorious admiration to both 

participants of the fight. 

Pedro stopped and turned back to face 

Delores. Their eyes met again, one last 

time. There was an unspoken connection 

between them that was shared with no 

one else. Pedro bowed slightly, and Delores 

nodded and winked. She pulled a 

white handkerchief from her waist pocket, 

raising it in the air. The crowd applauded 

and cheered, pleading in agreement for Pedro 

to be indultado. He would be pardoned, 

and his life would be spared. He would return 

to the fields to live out the rest of his 

life the way he so justly deserved. Delores 

smiled and saluted the crowd. 

The flowers continued to reign down as 

she walked out of the ring, to retire and 

never fight again.

the world of modeling is not 

what it was 20 years ago, ten 

years ago or even one year 

ago. Modeling has been rapidly changing 

from the commercialized runway 

shows around the world, boasting tall 

thin women and svelte men wearing 

incredible designer creations that very 

few can afford and even fewer could 

wear. Social media has given all new 

meaning to the word “model”. Instagram, 

Youtube, Snapchat, and many other social 

media avenues that an old guy like 

me doesn’t understand or know how to 

use, has turned everyday people into 

teen influencers, and Youtube sensations 

overnight. 

With that, many parents are looking to 

get their children in on the action. Navigating 

the waters of this ever growing 

industry is not easy and often times not 

safe. Just like every other industry, there 

are scammers and less than ethical people 

looking to take advantage in any way 

that they can. 

With that being said, I would like to offer 

a few basic pointers based on what 

I have seen as a photographer working 

with new and seasoned models and 

agencies. 

see anything crazy or over the 

top. Give them the basic look until 

a time comes that they ask for 

more. Casual looks and maybe a 

basic quick video is all you need 

to get started. The video is getting 

to be more and more necessary 

with social media and video being 

the biggest form of advertisement 

for end users to use. Because of 

that, and acting class or two may 

not be a bad idea either! 

Finding your reputable photographer 

can be a daunting task. Do 

not go to just anyone. Some of 

the things that you want to look 

for are a photographer that has 

a professional studio, not an in 

home spot with a sheet hanging 

from the rafters as a backdrop. 

Look for someone with a professional 

website, strong social media 

presence, and quality work 

and references. Unfortunately 

anyone can go into an electronics 

store or get on line and get a 

professional looking camera and 

call themselves a photographer. A 

good rule is that you get what you 

pay for. Photographers that offer 

“Instagram, Youtube and Snapchat has 

turned everyday teens into influencers 

and sensations overnight. 

The first question I get asked is “Where 

do I start to get my child involved in 

modeling. You will get a number of different 

answers based on who you talk 

to and where their interests are directed. 

But the first step should definitely be 

getting your child into a reputable photographer 

to get some basic digitals or 

submission photos. These are often just 

basic and rather boring photos, but they 

give a blank canvas look for agencies 

to look at. Legitimate agencies know 

what they can do with hair and makeup 

and wardrobe, so they don’t need to 

“

to give you the quality that you 

need. Don’t be afraid to pay a fair 

price to get the quality and ethical 

practice that you should be looking 

for. As a child model, you don’t 

want your kids photos on a page 

with pictures of scantily clad or 

even partially nude models, that is 

a red flag that this photographer 

may not be what you’re looking for. 

You also want to avoid photographers 

that have no photos with 

models or photographers with

and poorly lit photos. Agencies 

want professional, properly lit and 

composed photos, so your choice 

should be a photographer that exhibits 

those types of photos. And 

remember that it is ok to say no to 

a photographer. You don’t have to, 

and certainly shouldn’t, say yes to 

every shoot and every photographer 

that reaches out to you. Pick 

two or three reputable photographers 

with different styles and develop 

good working relationships 

with them for your portfolio. 

The next thing you should focus 

on is makeup and styling for 

shoots beyond the basic looks. A 

photographer that offers licensed 

professional esthetician services 

is a plus. Makeup and hair should 

always remain age appropriate 

and show an age range of a few 

years younger and older than 

your childs age. Avoid glamour 

shots and heavy makeup or looks 

well beyond the age of your child. 

Avoid going too big too fast with 

creative or dramatic looks. Although 

there is definitely a place 

for the fantastic beautiful artistic 

looks, you want to have a strong 

basic portfolio built before investing 

too much in high end looks. 

Keep things basic with a little bit 

of fun and creativity to start. 

Once you have that first shoot, 

or first few shoots under your belt, 

you may want to look to a local 

agency. Avoid the overwhelming 

number of agencies that will 

sign your child instantly for a fee 

and commitment to several of 

their paid classes. A true agency 

may want to see some posing or 

movement classes, but they don’t 

charge a lot of money to sign, and 

they don’t sign everyone they 

see on first meeting. Most legitimate 

agencies will only allow you 

to submit via an online form that is part 

of their well maintained and professional 

website. This is where you will enter 

basic information about your child, measurements, 

age, shoe size, hobbies and 

interests etc. This is where those basic 

digitals or “boring” phots will come in 

to play. They will ask for you to upload 

a basic headshot and a few full body 

photos for them to view. Some agencies 

may respond within days, some may 

take months. 

Research agencies in your area, and 

even some bigger ones in major cities 

near you. Submit to the smaller starter 

agencies that are legitimate and may be 

a better chance to be signed with, but 

also shoot for the moon and submit to 

the big city famous agencies, because, 

the worst they can say is no. And as 

the Great Wayne Gretsky, and Michael 

Scott (for any OFFICE fans) said, “You 

miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. 

The most important thing that I tell every 

new model or prospective model is, 

Keep it fun. Don’t go into this thinking 

you are going to be the next supermodel 

or famous influencer. Go into with the 

attitude that if you get signed and get 

some paid work and have fun doing it, 

that is enough. Go to school, build a future, 

make a career for yourself and have 

the modeling as great hobby that may 

make you some money. If you do make 

it big, well good for you, but don’t take 

things too seriously and do not put any 

pressure to be the next big thing. Don’t 

live to compete with every other model, 

just do you and have fun doing it. 

My plan for this column was just to give 

a basic overview of getting your child 

started. I will expand on specific parts 

and ideas from this theme in future articles 

for Teen Look and I also would love 

to answer any questions you may have 

via a question and answer portion of future 

articles.

Hi Nicole, it's great to chat with you again! 

The world is quite a different place since 

we last met. 

NG Yeah, things have really changed, 

but I'm doing OK with it all. It's been a 

year of distance schooling... 

How would you describe online classes 

compared to in class? 

NG In some ways I like it, but there 

are also many things I don't like! The 

learning is accelerated because of the 

quarter semester system; we do two 

classes per semester for four semesters. 

The hardest thing to deal with is 

the connection speed of the video conference. 

Sometimes it gets very laggy 

or drops out suddenly. 

Your in grade 11 and moving into your 

final year of high school - this pandemic 

looks to continue... what are your 

thoughts about that? 

NG I have heard some people say that 

we are missing out on the best years of our 

lives because of this, but I think it's a matter of 

perspective. I spend just as much time with my 

friends online as I would during the day in school 

as I did before. Sure, we are not together in a 

physical sense, but the emotion and closeness 

is still there just the same. 

That's a very good way of looking at it. 

NG Yeah, we are all still really close. Maybe 

closer because the connection is always open 

to chat if we need to. 

In the last interview, we discussed your game 

design in Roblox Studio. You have just recently 

started a YouTube channel showcasing some of 

your designs. Tell me about that. 

NG I found that creating videos for YouTube 

gave me inspiration to do more. I really like to 

create and share with the community. 

You were super excited when YouTube sent you 

notification that you were eligible to be monetized 

and start earning money! 

NG Haha, that was a very cool feeling! I never expected 

so many people to like what I was doing. 

What do see happening next, both with Roblox & 

YouTube? 

NG School does take a lot of my time, but I enjoy 

creating and sharing, so that will definitely keep 

happening. The two platforms go hand in hand 

- I create in Roblox Studio and share on YouTube, 

so it's a win win situation. 

Will we see a game developed from you soon? 

NG I have so many ideas and I hope that is something 

I can do, just for fun; something scary I 

think, lol 

Any last thoughts you would like to share? 

NG

believe in yourself and be brave. There are so 

many resources out there to help teens learn 

and become the superstars we dream of becoming! 

The times we are living with are difficult 

in many ways, but it will also make us stronger

Madison is a 15 year old freshman in High School from New 

Hampshire. Her favorite thing to do is cheer. 

She has been cheering since she was only five years old, 

and just a few years ago started her all star journey. 

Madison is on her fifth year of all star cheer at Bay State All Stars NH. 

She is on two teams, Non Tumble level 6 where she is a flyer and Junior 

level 2 where she is a backspot. She recently had an interest in doing 

photoshoots, and did her first one with one of her best friends. She 

loved it, and is excited do more in the future. Outside of cheer 

Madison loves to be up at our lake house, fishing, tubing, and loves 

to be on the boat and jet-ski in the summer. In the winter she loves to 

snowmobile and travel when she can.

am a 15 year old competitive cheerleader with a newfound 

passion for modeling. 

School has been challenging for me, I’ve struggled with bullying since 

grade school. It has been hard on my self esteem and confidence. I 

take my classes virtually now so I’m not around negative people. 

Recently I found modeling - I was scared at first but when I saw the 

first photos, I was hooked. I have found a new sense of confidence
