institutional effectiveness

and planning (iep)

The Office of IEP (OIEP) is happy to announce it is responding to feedback from NAU’s

application for regional accreditation. Under the direct supervision of the NAU Administrative

Team, OIEP is actively gathering data to ensure our application process is continuing a

positive trajectory. We are excited about this step of the application process and are

preparing to submit our response by the end of the semester.

Collaborating with the Athletic Department, OIEP has applied to the National Association

of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This is a tremendous step forward in the maturity of our

athletic programs and our ability to potentially compete with other institutions who are

NAIA members. We are anxiously awaiting a response from the Association.

In addition, the Strategic Objectives Committee (Goal 2: Strengthen Institutional Effectiveness)

met October 22nd. Agenda items included reviewing the previous academic year’s

progress in institutional effectiveness and planning organizational training sessions in the

use of technology that enhances the efficiency of processes throughout the university.

Finally, OIEP would like to welcome Mr. Larry Whittington as our Interim Assistant Director

of IEP. Mr. Whittington, who is currently the General Education Coordinator, has agreed to

take on additional duties working in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning

during our transition period. We look forward to continuing our productivity under his

leadership!
