Q. Which has been your most memorable or favorite NAU event?

The most memorable event was part of the education club, where we had the opportunity to

meet with our guest speaker, Alicia Baturoni Cortez from the office of STEM Management, who

came from NASA Johnson Space Center, to present us the NASA Opportunities & Tools for

Educators & Students.

As for my favorite event, where I had the most fun, is the BBQ Event of Fall 2021, where we had

the chance to enjoy the food, climb walls, and play foosball.

Q. Are you a member of any clubs at NAU?

Throughout my student life at NAU, I have had the chance to be part of some of the great

clubs at NAU, such as:

• Math Club, where I was the Vice President, where we aimed to impact our growth and

the life of our students here at NAU.

• Turkish Student Organization (TSO), where we have had some amazing water

marbling classes (I know it sounds FUN!)

• I am currently a member of ACM Woman Club. Worth mentioning is the TamuHack

event of 2019 at Texas A&M University!

Q. What is your favorite thing about Houston? Do you have a favorite place?

As an international student, Houston never fails to amaze me. I have many places in my mind, from

various parks and attractions, where you can enjoy your free time, read a book, and coffee shops to

29

being outdoors and enjoy the Houston’s beautiful skyline.

If I had to choose, the award of my favorite place would go to Sugar Bean Coffee Shop on Galveston

Island. You can enjoy your cup of coffee, the beautiful aesthetic atmosphere, and have a nice walk

around the beach to clear your mind.
