Witness to Change Reading and Discussion Series R

Witness to Change: Community Conversations on Coastal

Impacts is a new reading and discussion series through LEH’s

Coastal Impacts initiative, funded by BHP.

The four-part series incorporates history, memoir, and fiction

and will engage participants in conversations on the beauty of

and challenges faced by coastal communities.

This month we will be discussing Bayou Farewell: The Rich Life

and Tragic Death of Louisiana’s Cajun Coast by Mike Tidwell.

create a vintage poster...using stickers! You will have your own

Creative Crafters “Hearts-a-Hanging” R

Love is in the air this month There will be no wearing hearts on

your sleeve, but hearts willl be hanging in your home using an

embroidery hoop, wooden hearts, and paint.

Join us for this fun afternoon craft session to decorate your

own umbrella for Mardi Gras!

If you have anything you would like to use to decorate yours,

Unheard Voices of Louisiana

Unheard Voices of Louisiana is a presentation created

to promote a fuller understanding of Louisiana’s cultural

and ethnic diversity by presenting our history from the

perspectives of women, free people of color, enslaved

Africans, Native Americans, Acadians, Germans, and other

cultural contributors.

Created and presented by Dianne ”Gumbo Marie” Honore,

this program portrays accurate historical information and

encourages communication in a professional, ethical, and

equitable manner.
