Leadership Institute<br />
Designed to foster industry leaders, the 2022 IGIA Leadership Institute delivers an<br />
extensive program targeting promising leaders. The series provides education and<br />
training to empower participants to lead our industry now and into the future.<br />
Sponsored by SHAZAM, this year’s Leadership Institute consists of<br />
four one-day sessions delivering an outstanding lineup of topics and presenters.<br />
SESSION 1<br />
THURSDAY, JAN. 27, 2022<br />
Session includes a focus on<br />
leadership with presentations on<br />
“Stories, Wisdom and Parkinson’s…<br />
Lessons on Leadership” by Troy<br />
Cook and “Leading Forward”<br />
by Celina Peerman. It also<br />
includes conversations on<br />
how to build stronger teams<br />
with emotional intelligence.<br />
SESSION 2<br />
THURSDAY, FEB. 24, 2022<br />
Get an inside look at the<br />
industry’s legislative landscape<br />
during this session. It includes a<br />
government relations industry<br />
panel, <strong>Iowa</strong> Capitol tour and<br />
legislative leader meetings.<br />
SESSION 3<br />
THURSDAY, MARCH 24, 2022<br />
Focused on public relations,<br />
this session includes workshops<br />
with Patrick Dix on how to<br />
master media interviews, public<br />
speaking and social media.<br />
SESSION 4<br />
THURSDAY, APRIL 28, 2022<br />
Session includes a service project<br />
at the <strong>Iowa</strong> Food Bank and a<br />
keynote on “The Relationship Era”<br />
by Bill Withers. The presentation<br />
addresses how there has never<br />
been a time in recent history<br />
when quality customer service<br />
and effective stakeholder relations<br />
are at more of a premium,<br />
especially when technology is<br />
driving such significant change.<br />
The IGIA Leadership Institute is<br />
limited to 24 industry leaders<br />
so participants must commit to<br />
attend at least three sessions.<br />
Graduates will be recognized<br />
at the 2022 IGIA Convention.<br />
Complimentary convention<br />
registration will be provided<br />
for each graduate and a guest.<br />
