CARNIVAL IN AUSTRIA

GOOD TO KNOW
For all newly arrived guests, we offer a guided
tour of the premises, every day at 1pm. This will
help you to quickly familiarise yourself with
the facilities and find your way around. We will
meet at the hotel lobby.
The meeting point for all programmes outside
the hotel is at the Guest Relation Desk, unless
otherwise stated.
Dinner is served daily between 06.00 pm
and 09.00 pm. Each day, we invite you to a
homemade sweet or savoury snack at our
hotel lobby from 03.00 pm to 04.30 pm.
Please wear appropriate clothing and good
hiking or mountain boots for our hikes. A
helmet is mandatory for our ski guiding tours.
You can lend hiking boots, backpacks, poles,
and snowshoes free of charge at the Hotel
Reception. Skis and cross-country equipment,
as well as helmets are available for a fee
directly from the SunUp Shop in the seminar
area.
Please bring a valid 3G (vaccinated, recovered
or tested) certificate for all hikes and
activities!
Possible programme changes - also due to
legal requirements - will be announced in our
daily in-house magazine, which is available at
the breakfast table or the Hotel Reception.
If you need an antigen or PCR test for your
return journey, you can have this done here
at the hotel free of charge. Contact the Hotel
Reception for more information!
SKI INFO
Further information is summarised below. The
teams at our Hotel Reception and the Guest
Relation Desk are always available to answer
any questions you may have!
SKI BUS
The ski bus departs daily, directly at the hotel
for Sölden, every ten minutes from 08.15 am
to 11.13 am. The bus stop is located at the
entrance to the thermal bath garage. The
buses return directly to the hotel from 02.00
pm!
SKI PASS
You can get your ski pass at the Hotel
Reception!
SKI RENTAL + SKI SCHOOL
For the perfect skiing holiday, you will of
course also need professional equipment. At
the ski rental of our partner SunUp Sports in
the seminar area of the hotel you can get the
latest top-brand rental equipment - from skis,
poles and boots to helmets, snowboards and
toboggans. You can also book ski courses
directly in the shop.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
The starting point of the cross-country ski trail
and the night trail is located directly behind
the hotel at the Ötztal Ache River. A map of the
trails is available at the Hotel Reception!

DEAR GUESTS!
Welcome to the highlight of the carnival season here with us at the AQUA DOME! Our carnival
programme provides updates on the sporting, culinary and musical events over the coming
days.
FOR OUR KIDS AND TEENS
We have also compiled a varied programme for our younger guests,
organised and supervised by our children’s entertainment team. Exciting
games and adventures await your kids.
The meeting point and registration are always at the Hotel Reception.
Please provide your name, the name of your child and your room number. It
is also important that you leave your telephone number where we can reach
you “just in case”. Winter clothing is required for our outdoor activities.
The AQUA DOME CINEMA in the seminar area is open daily for our teenagers
and adults from 09.00 pm. The detailed programme is available in our daily
in-house magazine.
In this magazine, you are also informed about any changes and receive daily updates and tips
for your day.

TOBOGGANING FUN ON “FAT THURSDAY”
Our hiking guide Susi will accompany you today on a
beautiful nature hike. The hotel bus will take you to the
starting point at Winklen. The trail first leads us steeply
uphill, until we reach Lake Winklberg. After a short
rest at the lake, we continue our hike until we reach
Wurzberg alpine pasture. We warm up during the snack
stop in the rustic, cosy cabin and then whizz downhill on
the toboggan.

WINTER SNOWSHOE HIKE WITH COTTAGE BREAKFAST
Today, we invite you to a rustic breakfast at a cottage.
With our hiking guide Maria, we take the hotel bus
to Köfels, a mountain village overlooking Umhausen.
We enjoy breakfast in the rustic atmosphere of the
“Edelweiß” snack station. Then it's off on snowshoes
through the snow-covered forest to the Wurzberg
alpine pasture. Finally, we unstrap our snowshoes and
toboggan down to the valley.

UMHAUSEN SHEEP WOOL CENTRE

In the Ötztal sheep wool centre, genuine sustainability
is put into practise! Because the company covers the
entire value chain - from wool supply by Ötztal sheep
farmers to the finished product. This is where the story
of wool and flax processing is brought to life. Highquality
sheep wool products are offered for sale at the

Gurgl. From the mowing of the hay and the extraction

reflected in the perfect taste of the exclusive cheese
wheels and in their intimate relationship with happy,
chamois-coloured mountain goats.

Hochgurgl. Have a look at the exhibits of the museum at
your leisure. You are welcome to enjoy a relaxed lunch
at the museum. At 01.00 pm, we meet again in front of
the museum for the return trip.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING TRIAL SESSION

We take you to the meeting point in Niederthai, a
mountain village overlooking Umhausen. At the Alpin
Center, you will meet your state-certified cross-country
skiing instructor. He/she will help you rent appropriate
equipment before you try out one of the most popular
winter sports.

Today, we invite you to a romantic alpaca hike. With
our hotel bus, we will take you to the farm in Sölden.
Everyone can lead an alpaca and walk a short loop on
the Panorama Trail (approx. 1 hour). After the walk, all
participants can enjoy mulled wine and coffee/tea with
biscuits. Alpaca products can be purchased directly on
site.

THE EAGLE’S NEST IN FARST

Situated above the legendary Engelwand rock face,
Farst is one of the oldest settlements in the valley. Today
we will explore this gigantic mountain scenery on a
hike with Maria, our hiking guide. Marvel at the breathtaking
view of the Ötztal valley floor during a leisurely
snack break at 1,400 metres altitude.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE HAND WEAVING MILL IN UMHAUSEN
Our hotel bus will take you to the weaving mill of the
Doblander family in Umhausen. Following the rural
tradition of self-sufficiency, their uncle Anton Holzknecht
developed the idea of founding a commercial hand
weaving mill, which was put into operation at the end of
the 1940s. In addition to modern production techniques,
the workshop attaches great value to handicraft. Linen
and wool are still woven on traditional wooden looms.

Guide Eva will accompany us to Sölden in the hotel
taxi. We ski the first runs on the freshly prepared slopes,
before heading to the rustic, 200-year-old hut, where
breakfast is ready. Home-baked bread, cheese from
the own Tyrolean grey cattle and other delicacies whet
our appetite to linger longer. After this energy-boost, we
head off for a glorious day of skiing.

Today, we will take you on a guided tour of 007 Elements,
the James Bond Museum, at an altitude of over 3,000
metres. On the ascent to Gaislachkogl, you can enjoy
the breath-taking view over the Ötztal Alps. Once you
have reached 3,000 metres, one of the staff members
will carry you away to the world of James Bond.

Mindfulness coaching to reduce stress was developed
30 years ago by American molecular biologist Dr Jon
Kabat Zinn, who combines Western science with Eastern
