Coat of Arms, with motto -
‘Nobilis Est Ira Leonis’ within
fine diaper and ribbon bands and
finely enamelled floral borders,

243. This service believed to
have been made for Captain
Charles Ross M.P. (1721 -
1745) who inherited Balnagown
Castle from his uncle, became
a Captain in 3rd Regiment of
Foot Guards and elected M.P.
for Ross-shire in 1741. He was
killed in action at the Battle of
Fontenoy in 1745 26 cm – 33
