Large stoneware jar with natural ash glaze

Heisei era (1989-2019)

Beginning from a narrow base, the profile building up to a broad and flat shoulder,

the neck again expanding upward and the lip folding out; the clay body, white

from being fired in a reduction atmosphere, is covered in natural ash glaze in blue,

green, and gray tones; in several places the remains of cup-shaped kiln spacers

broken off after firing have created small deposits of thick, glass-like glaze
