William's room in the Jr. High and is very
grateful for the privilege.
The room is fitted with an eno board, which
has been incorporated into the meetings as
a vehicle to run instructional videos. After
watching the video / instruction, club
members have a hands on experience with
what ever the topic of the day is. So far, the
topics have been knots and knot tying and
lures and baits, two topics important for our
members to know.
Other activities include the introduction of
the club's own library of books and
magazines. Members can browse during
meetings, and materials are also being
loaned out so students can enjoy them
during their free time. In addition, plans are
currently being made to build a bookshelf /
cabinet to house the library. Eighth grader
Erik Hartwig has been helping us out in this
department. And, so you know, donations
of books and magazines on fish, fishing,
and the environment are now being
accepted in the shop.
At the same time, the club has also made
it's mark on the Internet, with our own
YouTube channel, @KomarekFishClub.
The initiative was spearheaded by another
eighth grader, Nick Mascitti, and is also in
its early stages of development. We're
looking forward to the day when our club
Internet channel is up and fully operational.
Lastly, as we move into the colder, winter
months, we plan to continue our meetings
in preparation for our field trip that will be
held when the weather warms up again.
And, we hope to have our first fish fry soon
and are currently planning that, as well.
BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
Komarek Childcare is excited about the
holiday season. We decorated the room with
pretty snowflakes and twinkling lights, as
holiday songs filled the air. And the children
made beautiful beaded ornaments to hang on
their trees at home. We will be playing
Hanukkah games and making edible
dreidels to celebrate the 8 days of Hanukkah.
On Fri. Dec. 7th the Childcare will have its
annual Holiday Party. We will be going to
CiCi's Pizza, to play some games, mingle
with our Childcare family, and celebrate the
season together. We truly are one big family
in Childcare. So from our family to yours
Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
