Volunteers are the essential pedestal of any charitable organization. If you’re interested in volunteering

A gift to the Foundation
QCF gratefully accepts the following kinds of gifts:
-cash, cheques
-multi-year pledges
-stocks and bonds
-real estate and other assets
-gifts made through estate planning.

The Best Fit for Your Donation
Interest from all donations to the QCF is distributed in one of the following ways:
Agency Funds - Organizations can create a special endowment fund in their name. While the QCF holds the
original investment in perpetuity, interest is returned to the sponsoring organization annually.
Designated Funds - You name the fi eld of interest or charitable organization to benefi t from your fund, which
will support your favourite charity or fi eld of interest in perpetuity.
Discretionary Funds - These unrestricted funds allow the Grants Committee to decide where earnings can
be used most effectively each year, yet allow the donors to name the fund and be recognized. This fund may be
suitable for a family, a memorial, or a company.
Donor Advised Funds - These funds allow donors to be actively involved with the QCF in selecting recipient
charitable organizations. This type of fund is considered the most effective alternative to the creation of a private
foundation.
Field of Interest Funds - Your gift will focus on a particular fi eld, but is not limited to one organization. You
defi ne the charitable area (such as the arts or health), but entrust the Foundation to select specifi c projects for
support.
Flow-through Funds - Non-permanent funds passed through to qualifi ed charitable organizations according
to the donor’s objectives. This choice accommodates donors who desire the protection of anonymity for their
philanthropic giving, an impartial third party to distribute their community gifts, or who are not registered charities,
but wish to provide tax receipts for donations.
In Memoriam Funds - Donors can choose to make a gift to the Foundation in memory of a friend or relative,
or to express sympathy. In Memoriam donations of $10,000 or more can be designated toward a fi eld of interest.
Scholarship Funds - Your money will be used to set up scholarships in your name or in honour of someone
else, to help deserving individuals to receive education or training they might not otherwise obtain.
Undesignated Funds - The income from your fund supports community projects designated by the QCF
during and after your lifetime. Your fund will support a range of charitable projects and is best able to address the
needs of tomorrow - needs that may be diffi cult to predict today.
