This issue I am endeavouring to bring California up to date but the job is made more difficult on two fronts: one,<br />
we haven’t visited California for at least 5 years now, and secondly all my news-sheets and reference books are<br />
still in storage after last year’s floods. I am most grateful to Bob Martin and our son Peter, both of whom visited<br />
California in 2005 and have shared their extensive notes with me, and to Maurice Bateman for his help; I also<br />
