worklink
Worklink is a not for profit company set up in November 2011
to provide additional professional support to enhance the
services and programmes within the State that are focused
on helping job-seekers gain employment and valuable work
placements.
Services include:
• Professional support to reduce employer’s time
in providing high quality work placement opportunities
• Promoting and providing information regarding labour
activation schemes
• Mentoring support to job-seekers through relevant
job-seeker groups and organisations
• Channelling the services of citizens and qualified
training and service providers to help job-seekers
transition back to employment
Worklink has gained the support of partners such as the
Chartered Institute Of Personnel And Development (CIPD)
and Skillnets – with whom they are developing their regional
networks, Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC),
the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises association (ISME),
Chambers Ireland, FÁS, and JobBridge. They have also received
sponsorship from such organisations as the Musgrave Group,
Drury Communications, Rehab Group, Cpl, Baker Tilly, Bord Gáis,
Towers Watson, KPMG, Accenture and Whitney Moore.
Worklink’s service is provided through a network of volunteers
who work directly with employers as programme managers
to develop and implement a quality work placement. They also
work with job-seeker bodies as career mentors to job-seekers.
Worklink would welcome expressions of interest from anyone
interested in volunteering, from employers wishing to learn
more about their services, or from job-seeker bodies.
With Worklink’s help, the plan I agreed
with the employer included time for me
to acquire skills I specifically wanted
to develop. Four months into the work
placement I was offered a job with
a leading Multinational organisation –
a job I could not have competed for
without this experience.
