McDuffie, the daughter of the
late Samuel and Lucy Inez
Franks, was born November
12, 1929, in Florence County. She
peacefully entered eternal rest Saturday,
April 9, 2022.
She attended Florence Public Schools and graduated from
Wilson High School. Sammye received her Bachelor of Arts
degree from South Carolina State College and her Master of
Arts degree from New York University.
She was united into holy matrimony to the late Keller
McDuffie.
She was employed as an early childhood educator. Sammye
dedicated herself as a mother of her four blessings from God.
Sammye was a member at Cumberland United Methodist
Church where she was very active and loyal in service. She was
a longtime member of the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stacy McDuffie.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Danny McDuffie,Riverdale,
GA; two daughters, Iris McDuffie, Florence, SC; and Laura
McDuffie, Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Ayanna McDuffie,
Atlanta, GA; Chidera Ejiofor, Houston, TX ; and William
McDuffie, Riverdale, GA, in addition to a host of
relatives and friends.
