Stories can transport us<br />
another time<br />

a child, lonely and scared<br />
a parent, afraid for their family<br />
a parent, trying to keep it together<br />
seeking a better future, a better life, a better now<br />
needing open hearts and open arms<br />
not open cages<br />
traumas repeated and reimagined<br />
lives lost and people left behind<br />
only memories remain of home<br />
for some – a new town, a new school, a new language to learn<br />
a new hope<br />
a new perspective found at the end of the page<br />
