So-out-it’s-in fans will love the Fabulous Find (1853 Main, at
the corner of 3 rd ). The high quality of the furniture here makes
it stand out from other mix-and-match retro venues, and the
owners really know how to spot a good find. Italian chrome,
Danish teak, metal wall art and distinctive lights are big draws
for customers. In the windows in April (but probably gone by
now) were a purple upholstered swivel cone chair at $585, and a
Hans Olsen (for Frem Rojle) 1950s round teak dining table, with
four tripod chairs, in pristine condition, for $1,600.
Offering options by way of walls and floors, right across from
one another, are Burritt Bros. Carpets (3594) and the House
of the Spirit Bear Gallery (3957). Both have colourful ways to
accent the antiques down the street. Burritt has some great textured
throw rugs and splashy colours in linoleum to liven up
Spartan condo areas, while trendy new cork flooring is said to
reduce leg and ankle fatigue and is easy to maintain. Spirit Bear
carries stunning Northwest Coast native art. A Morrisseau with
