ALL HOMES OPEN SUNDAY JUNE 3, 10 A.M.-4 P.M.
Parade of the best
renovated homes
Professionals proudly open 13 homes for tours
Want to see how the professionals handle
renovations – and talk to them in person?
Your opportunity comes Sunday, June 3,
when members of the Renovation Council
of the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’
Association open 13 professionally renovated
homes from West Vancouver to
White Rock, featuring award-winning
homes and post-modernistic makeovers.
A $10 passport, available at any of
the homes, gets you into all the homes,
with part proceeds going to carpentry and
trades education at local high schools. For
more information, visit www.gvhba.org.
1835 Kitchener Street, Vancouver
Intermind Design Inc., 604-338-9936
Just off Commercial Drive, this postmodernist
renovation may prove a parade
stopper. Made over to complement the
neighbouring architecture, which dates to
the 1920s, yet with a radical edge, the project
includes bold exterior treatment and
colours to reflect the area’s multicultural
milieu. Inside, the home is redone with
glass doors, walnut flooring and polished
stone counters, and acrylic furniture and
chandeliers. Artistic influences are seen
in Sol LeWitt stripes and black-and-white
Malevich-inspired murals. Don’t miss
this makeover.
