Boots

What if a cat was trained for dogfighting but was subsequently forced into

retirement because her bloodlust disturbed even her trainer? Come on

down and meet Boots! We found this gray tabby gnawing straight through

a tire three days ago. In the short time since then, every single one of us at

the shelter has grown to fear and respect her! Boots probably isn’t the best

fit for a home with children in it — even visiting ones, even just in your

doorway, trick-or-treating — and would be happiest in . . . we actually

shudder to think what would make Boots happy. It may be best if the

world never knows.

The dog is a yes-animal. Very popular with people who can’t afford a yes

man.
