Section 6-27. Funeral Processions<br />

MISCELLANEOUS<br />
(a) A funeral procession shall be identified as such in a manner determined by the chief <strong>of</strong><br />
police to be adequate to give notice to other drivers <strong>of</strong> the existence <strong>of</strong> such a procession.<br />
(b) Each driver in a funeral procession shall drive as near to the right-hand edge <strong>of</strong> the road<br />
as practical and shall follow the vehicle ahead as closely as possible consistent with obedience to<br />
traffic control signals and safe driving practices.<br />
(c) No person may drive a vehicle between the vehicles constituting a funeral procession<br />
when such vehicles are in motion and are conspicuously designated as provided in subsection (a) <strong>of</strong><br />
this section.<br />
Section 6-28. Special Provisions for Bicycles, Toy Vehicles, Etc.<br />
(a) No person upon roller skates, or riding in or by means <strong>of</strong> any coaster, toy vehicle, or<br />
similar device may go upon the roadway <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong> the following named streets: (Amend 3/19/91)<br />
North and South Greensboro Streets<br />
Main Street<br />
Weaver Street<br />
Smith Level Road<br />
Jones Ferry Road<br />
Rosemary Street<br />
Simpson Street<br />
Highway 54 Bypass<br />
Davie Road<br />
James Street<br />
Hillsborough Road<br />
Estes Drive Extension<br />
Merritt Mill Road<br />
West Poplar Avenue<br />
(b) No person upon roller skates, or riding in or by means <strong>of</strong> any coaster, skateboard,<br />
toy vehicle, or similar device may ride upon or operate such device in willful or wanton disregard<br />
<strong>of</strong> the rights or safety <strong>of</strong> others or in a manner so as to endanger any person or property or disrupt or<br />
interfere with the normal flow <strong>of</strong> motor vehicle traffic. (Amend. 3/19/91)<br />
(c) The driver <strong>of</strong> a motorcycle or bicycle when upon the street shall not carry any other<br />
person upon the handlebars, tank, or any other part <strong>of</strong> such vehicle not designed or carrying<br />
passengers. No person may ride upon the handlebars, tank or any other part <strong>of</strong> a motorcycle or<br />
bicycle not designed for carrying passengers.<br />
