Some other questions to consider<br />
In addition to carefully considering whether Ox<strong>for</strong>d or Cambridge is right <strong>for</strong> you, there are<br />
some other key questions to ask yourself when thinking about an <strong>Oxbridge</strong> application.<br />
These include:<br />
• Which course am I interested in?<br />
• Is my preference <strong>for</strong> Ox<strong>for</strong>d or Cambridge?<br />
• Which College will I apply to?<br />
• How can I best prepare?<br />
Engagement with the <strong>Oxbridge</strong> Programme will help you answer these questions but use<br />
this time to conduct your own research. Visit the university websites to explore the various<br />
course options and request a copy of the current prospectus. Think about attending<br />
university open days during the summer – it really is the best way to help decide which<br />
university and college is right <strong>for</strong> you.<br />
Importantly though, try to be as objective as possible about your interests, ability, aptitudes<br />
and work ethic. Above all, if you decide it’s the right path to take, do so with commitment.<br />
Making the most of your time<br />
Admissions tutors from all <strong>Oxbridge</strong> colleges recommend having two or three topics that<br />
you have researched to a high level, and about which you can talk with enthusiasm and<br />
confidence. These topics need to be beyond the A level curriculum and with this in mind,<br />
alongside your own exploration, <strong>Oxbridge</strong> Subject Mentors will provide extension tasks to<br />
help you develop your knowledge outside of the classroom. This work will prove to be a vital<br />
component of your future application and it is strongly recommended that you engage with<br />
these additional tasks over the coming months.
