Climate change and its consequences for water use: How will<br />
climate change affect Switzerland, Europe’s “reservoir”? The effects<br />
will be even greater than previously supposed, according to<br />
the results of the recently completed research project “Hydrological<br />
principles of climate change” (Hydro CH2018), which was led by the<br />
Federal Office for the Environment within the National Centre for<br />
Climate Services (NCCS). The key findings: while there will be no<br />
general water shortage, regional and seasonal scarcity may occur.<br />
At the same time, flooding will increase as a result of more intense<br />
local rainfall. Such marked changes will require adaptations in water<br />
