prevention charity that
encourages people to stay
connected and have
conversations that can
help others through
difficult times in their lives.
Our community at Legacy is devoted to enhancing the
lives of families of veterans who have served in war,
peacekeeping and humanitarian missions, and who
have died or become seriously injured either in
service or subsequently.
Buy a badge and help us support the families of our
veterans this Legacy Week 28th August – 3rd September
2022.
The Legacy Week appeal has been running since the 1940’s
and is a time for all Australians to show their support for the
widows and children whose loved ones have served our
country. The Legacy badge is a special emblem of support for
our veterans’ families, symbolising our nation’s greatest values
of mateship, compassion and fairness.
Legacy is supported by the work of our dedicated Legatees,
volunteers, staff members and widows. These individuals
make up a dynamic community of people, ranging from
schoolchildren to senior citizens. It is with their assistance
that Legacy is able to continue working to support our
veterans’ families. Volunteers can help by selling in their local
area in the first week of September each year.

Legacy is an iconic Australian charity that was established in
1923 and founded on a promise made from one digger to
another – to “look after the missus and the kids.”
We have a Defence School Mentor employed full-time at
school to work with our defence students and families.
Our staff are committed to providing a safe and nurturing
learning environment that caters for the whole child. We foster
learning that enables students, families, school and community
to engage in a collaborative partnership for a life-long journey
of education.
Specialist subjects on offer to our students in the areas of
Physical Education, The Arts and Indonesian.
Out of School Hours Care available throughout the term,
including Vacation Care in the holidays.

suicide prevention efforts by
encouraging people to invest
more time in their personal
relationships and building the
capacity of informal support
networks – friends, family and
colleagues - to be alert to
those around them, have a
conversation if they identify
signs of distress or difficulty
and connect someone to
appropriate support, long
before they're in crisis.
Legacy badges may be little but the funds they raise make a
big impact in the lives of our veterans’ families - Legacy Week
is a time to give back to the families of those who have given
so much.
