During 2011, the states have evaluated an<br />

approximately 90 districts using a standardized<br />

format which covers the entire gamut<br />

of <strong>RNTCP</strong> services. The reports are disseminated<br />

amongst the DTOs to enable corrective<br />

actions to issues in their districts. Actions<br />

taken on the recommendations are regularly<br />

reviewed by the state and the central level.<br />

The central level has visited and intensively evaluated<br />

3 states - evaluated 6 districts in addition to<br />

reviewing state level issues.<br />

<strong>RNTCP</strong>: Implementation status and activities in 2011<br />

Central and State level Internal Evaluations, through<br />

a well laid out protocol, serve as important tool<br />

for indepth qualitative & quantitative evaluation of<br />

the programme; validation of programme data;<br />

platform for sharing experiences on implementation<br />

practices; garnering political and administrative<br />

support etc… The States conduct internal<br />

evaluation of 2 districts per quarter. In addition,<br />

internal evaluations are conducted by<br />

the central level with active participation of<br />

the States. The Medical Colleges, NGOs &<br />

other partners, NRHM and all other stakeholders<br />

are active participants in these<br />

evaluations.<br />
