Thermal Compensation 

LK thermally compensates not only for 

all axes of the machine structure plus 

the component, but also for the complete 

probe assembly, right to the probe tip. 

This is the only way to achieve accurate 

thermal compensation in harsh 

operating environments,

A 2 o C temperature change would 

increase this probe assembly length by

Parametric Error Compensation 

Any CMM built to relaxed tolerances 

and prone to dimensional instability 

could quickly fall out of its accuracy 

specification, as any change in the original 

structure geometry then renders the 

parametric error compensation map 

incorrect. The naturally stable Ascent 

is built to very tight mechanical 

tolerances and relies on parametric 

error compensation only to finely 

perfect the accuracy for long lasting,

LY90S 

A choice of two machine options; the side mounted granite or cast iron 

table, with single or twin column operation, and the rail or twin rail model 

plus ‘walk-on’ covers, with optional cast iron plate. 

Large column and spindle cross-sections (260 x 140mm and 80 x 80mm 

respectively) provides an increased bearing spread for maximum stiffness, 

accuracy and repeatability in your measurement. 

Precision cast components allow a modular design to be implemented, thus 

allowing you to choose a machine size ideally suited to your application 

and budget. 

Available in CNC, manual or CNC with disengagable hand wheels, plus the 

option of automatic component transfer systems with or without 

environmental enclosures, the LY90S TM can be integrated perfectly 

into your metrology process.
