ENIN CITY—THE Iyase
B(Prime Minister) of Benin,
Sam Igbe has called on parents
to engage their children and
wards on vocational training
irrespective of the education they
want to get to enable them
acquire skills they can live on.
He stated this when he
received graduates and students
of his Centre for Edo Delta
Development Initiative, CEDDI,
which he has been using to train
young people on different skills.
According to him “I feel
unhappy that parents allow
children to grow through their
care and they do not teach them
to think of tomorrow what they
are going to be and that is why
even when our students
graduate, they are moving from
city to city looking for jobs because
they do not think of other things
when they are younger and that
was what made us to do what we
did.
“We saw quite a few people,
young chaps moving around
doing nothing and we thought
we could do some thing by what
we have done. I am happy seeing
them, it gives me pleasure that
these years we have been able to
do what we have done.”
On his part, the Executive
Secretary, Heartbeat Peoples
Development Initiative, HPDI,
which is a support group to
CEDDI, Nosasu Edigin said with
support from Usen Osa who is a
member of the Board of Trustees
they have been supporting Igbe
to fulfill his dreams for young
people using his personal
resources.
appointed patron and national
legal adviser of Atiku-Okowa
Diehard Group.
Speaking at the brief ceremony
in Government House Asaba,
solidly behind the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, her
Presidential candidate and his
Vice, Atiku Abubakar and
Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa,
presidential candidates are in the
race to fulfil all political
righteousness.
running mate, Okowa, stands tall
as tested and trusted patriots,
unifiers, renowned technocrats
and administrators with
Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom
and Chairman of the traditional
council, HRM Ogbon Ogoni-
Oghoro I, Dafinone reiterated
his desire to ensure that sound
economic opportunities were
brought to the district.
He said he was out to
"encourage the educational
system to ensure that our
children can be empowered to
make the best out of their lives
and seize the opportunities that
will arise when business comes
to the district.
"To encourage those who
wish to use our resources and
Iyase of Benin at 93, tasks parents on
vocational training for children
He used the occasion to
celebrate the Esogban of Benin,
David Edebiri who also turned
93 a few days ago and the group
also visited him.
“CEDDI has survived as an
initiative of the Iyase without
support from the government
since it was started in 2012
under his leadership. We train
them free and we also empower
impeccable skills, experience
and integrity to decisively solve
the multifaceted socioeconomic
and security problems
mismanaged by President
Buhari and the APC national
government.
He said recent political
developments within PDP will
further strengthen and deepen
internal democracy via relevant
organs of the party, and that all
misunderstandings are being
resolved to pave way for a
groundbreaking flag off of
presidential campaigns, adding
that PDP shall effortlessly win
the presidential election in
2023.
"I accept my appointment as
Patron and National Legal
Adviser to Atiku-Okowa
Diehard Group. I urge members
of the group to be focused,
site their businesses here in Delta
central, to treat the land and
resources with respect.
Environmental pollution must
not be tolerated, as we all suffer
when our land is destroyed.
"I believe I am the right person
with the right vision, experience
and skill set to assure the people
of Delta Central with the
enabling environment that will
bring about the prosperity we
deserve."
On their part, the traditional
rulers noted that it was obvious
that the senatorial candidate was
following the footsteps of his late
father, Senator David Dafinone,
who they said worked for the
betterment of the Urhobo nation.
them, we give them free shops
to start their businesses, not
empty shops but equipped based
on the trade they learnt and
furnish them based on their
requirements including
generators and we have been
doing that since then. He is not
a politician that is why he is not
involved in the support group he
spends his resources to fund
them."
