Adam Byrne picked up two tries
on his return from a 22-month
lay-off as Leinster Rugby made
it three wins out of three in the
United Rugby Championship.
Johnny Sexton was named URC Player of
the Match after coming on early for the
injured Harry Byrne, the out-half getting
his side ticking all over the pitch.
Scott Penny’s first-minute try was a signal
of intent from the holders while Jordan
Larmour doubled down on that in the
12th minute.
After almost two years watching on from
the sidelines, Adam Byrne got his first try
to a raucous reception in the 38th minute.
The winger completed his brace just eight
minutes after the break, by which time Ed
Byrne and Seán Cronin had extended
Leinster’s advantage.
Rónan Kelleher came off the pitch to grab
a seventh try before Pierre Bruno’s late
consolation for the Italians.

Leinster Rugby continued their
excellent start to the United
Rugby Championship with a 50-15
Round 4 win over Scarlets at the
RDS Arena.
Leading by 22-8 at the break despite
trailing twice early on, the hosts would
overpower their visitors further in the
second half with replacement front-rowers
Dan Sheehan and Cian Healy combining
for three tries.
Caelan Doris would also dot down in that
second half making it a successful night
on the scoreboard for Leinster forwards,
Rónan Kelleher and Andrew Porter also
crossing the whitewash.
As well as the six tries from the forwards,
Leinster were awarded a penalty try
while the clock was in the red awaiting
the end of the first half.
Johnny McNicholl and Tomas Lezana
notched a five-pointer for the visitors in
each half but it wasn’t enough against a
dominant home team.

Dan Sheehan celebrated his call
up to the Ireland squad with
the bonus-point try that helped
Leinster Rugby see off Glasgow
Warriors in Round 5 of the URC.
Sheehan’s try arrived midway through
the second half off the back of a positive
third quarter in which Leinster stretched
their advantage from seven to 21.
