Among those who sing, dance or shine on stage,
one artist in Saint-Barths dedicates herself to all
three arts. Her stage name: Stella.
Parmi ceux qui chantent, dansent ou brillent sur
scène, il est une artiste à Saint-Barthélemy qui
s’adonne à tous ces arts. Nom de scène : Stella.
From the island to the world
From the Latin stella: star, but let’s say here stella
comans: shooting star, for this unrestrained artist in
perpetual quest for experiences.
It all started in the premises of Cours Florent, where the
young woman blossomed in musical comedy. “I did not
grow up in it, I was not pushed into it at all. It was something
I had deep inside. A childhood dream.” Indeed,
one day, after fifteen years on the island, Stella left
Saint-Barths with no real plan: Toulouse first, Montpellier,
a round trip to Uruguay to learn Spanish, Hawaii for English...
«I listened to myself and, at some point, I realized
that I had to at least give it a try.» When she finished her
studies, Stella started acting, in musical shows or adverti-

Du latin stella : étoile, mais disons plutôt ici stella comans
: étoile filante, pour cette artiste incoercible en
perpétuelle quête d’expériences.
Tout commence dans les locaux des cours Florent, où la
jeune femme se révèle dans l’art de la comédie musicale.
« Je n’avais pas été éduquée là-dedans, on ne m’avait pas
du tout poussée dans ce domaine. C’est quelque chose
que j’avais d’enfoui. Un rêve d’enfant.» En effet, jusqu’à ses
quinze ans sur le caillou, Stella quitte un jour Saint-Barthélemy
sans trop savoir : Toulouse d’abord, Montpellier, un aller-retour
en Uruguay pour apprendre l’espagnol, à Hawaii
pour l’anglais… « Je me suis écouté et, à un moment donné,
je me suis dit qu’il fallait au moins que je tente l’expérience.»
