Strategic Plan Update
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Inspiring, unifying, and creating a path for empowered
leaders and providing the necessary tools to ignite a passion
for our sisterhood and the community.
OPERATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY
Enhancing the membership experience through optimization
of resources, innovation, and communication.
Launched the 'Preserving our Legacy Initiative' to ensure
the LTA Founding Mother's legacy is taught and
preserved, and solidify LTA's place in history as the First
Latina Sorority.
Improved the Board of Directors onboarding process to
include 'Board Orientation Days' with training on nonprofit
board governance, developing leaders, and
enhancing the sorority brand and fiscal management.
Established a National Technology Special
Committee and Manual supporting technology,
operational risk, cybersecurity risks, data protection,
and organizational continuity.
MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Creating a membership experience that exemplifies our principles
while empowering members at all levels of participation to fulfill
their lifelong commitment to the sisterhood.
Collaborated with members on ways to continue the
advancement and sustainability of the sorority through
National Share Sessions.
Appointed Maria Miranda (Beta Pi Chapter, Spring 2003) the first
DEI Ambassador for LTA; a consultative role for the organization
to support the development of inclusive strategies.
Conducted undergraduate focus groups to better support,
engage, and sustain members in the undergraduate
experience.
Strengthened alumnae engagement by the continuation of
Café con Leches – topic-based open forums and the
creation of the Alumnae Website.
Enhanced leadership training during Monthly Roundtables to
include topics such as mental health, diversity equity and
inclusion, conflict management, hazing prevention, decision
making, and most recently, social justice and advocacy.
Approved the pilot of the Regional Administrative Supervisor
role with the goal of strengthening the regional leadership team,
providing better training and support, and supporting the
organization’s expanding use of technology.
Held Regional Leadership Conferences where regional officers
provide mandatory training for Area officers, address regionalspecific
challenges, and build local goals to improve the
membership experience.
FISCAL HEALTH
Uniting to ensure a healthy and secure financial
future for our sisterhood.
Enhanced financial literacy programs by inviting
community members to participate in webinars and live
programming on social media.
BRANDING & PARTNERSHIP
Creating a membership experience that
exemplifies our principles while empowering
members at all levels of participation to fulfill their
lifelong commitment to the sisterhood.
Extended the national partnership with the CDC Let’s Stop
HIV Together campaign to support by sharing resources
and raising awareness for minorities and people of color
living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Strengthened existing partnerships and in 2022, the
Lambda Theta Alpha Foundation, Inc. was added as an
official National Philanthropy.
Grew the sorority's social media presence and in March
2022, Lambda Theta Alpha's national Instagram account
reached 10K followers, a new milestone in the sorority’s
social media presence.
Expanded the reach of the 'ULR Fund', developed to
financially support membership dues and now includes
National Convention, Spring Conference, and Sisterhood
Spirit Weekend.
Opened a new bank account to ensure that more sorority
funds are protected by the Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporation (FDIC).
