LAMBDA HILL DAYS

On March 28 - April 1, Lambda Theta Alpha

Latin Sorority, Inc. hosted its sixth annual

Lambda Hill Days virtually. This year, the 17

cohort members selected the topics they

would focus on, including immigration, mental

health, student loan forgiveness, and climate

change, just to name a few.

2022 NATIONAL CONVENTION

Nearly 350 members of Lambda Theta Alpha

Latin Sorority, Inc. convened at the Hilton

Austin on July 22-24, 2022, for its annual

National Convention. The three days included

opportunities for members from all over the

country to bond with the sisterhood, learn

more about our sorority’s history, attend educational and

motivational sessions, and celebrate each other and the sorority’s

accomplishments.

The LLEAD Certification Program was created to further

enhance the leadership skills of the members of our sorority

as it relates to cultural sensitivity, diversity and inclusion.

Cohort 9 graduated 14 undergraduate and alunnae members

in May 2022.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION LISTENING SESSIONS

In Spring 2022, the Board of Directors announced Maria Miranda as the DEI Ambassador for Lambda Theta Alpha. The DEI

Ambassador is a consultative role supporting the Board of Directors in developing the Sorority’s efforts around Diversity, Equity

and Inclusion. The DEI ambassador will lead efforts to engage our membership in conversations around inclusivity within LTA and

foster collaborative efforts to develop future solutions and initiatives.

Four DEI Listening Sessions occurred throughout the year where members participated in facilitated

discussions about diversity, equity, and inclusion within the sorority. In addition to sharing personal

experiences, members offered policy recommendations for the Board of Directors to consider.

Information gathered during these sessions will be an integral part of building the 2022-2026

Strategic Plan.

NATIONAL HAZING PREVENTION TRAINING

New this year, a national hazing prevention training program was

implemented, using the Prevent Zone platform, a leader in prevention

training. The Hazing Prevention 101: Fraternity & Sorority Edition training

was required for one representative from each constituency. A total of 147

members completed the training and shared the information learned with

workshops at the local level.
