National Programs & InitiativesLAMBDA HILL DAYSOn March 28 - April 1, Lambda Theta AlphaLatin Sorority, Inc. hosted its sixth annualLambda Hill Days virtually. This year, the 17cohort members selected the topics theywould focus on, including immigration, mentalhealth, student loan forgiveness, and climatechange, just to name a few.LAMBDA LADIES AS EMPOWEREDADVOCATES FOR DIVERSITYCERTIFICATION PROGRAM2022 NATIONAL CONVENTIONNearly 350 members of Lambda Theta AlphaLatin Sorority, Inc. convened at the HiltonAustin on July 22-24, 2022, for its annualNational Convention. The three days includedopportunities for members from all over thecountry to bond with the sisterhood, learnmore about our sorority’s history, attend educational andmotivational sessions, and celebrate each other and the sorority’saccomplishments.The LLEAD Certification Program was created to furtherenhance the leadership skills of the members of our sororityas it relates to cultural sensitivity, diversity and inclusion.Cohort 9 graduated 14 undergraduate and alunnae membersin May 2022.DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION LISTENING SESSIONSIn Spring 2022, the Board of Directors announced Maria Miranda as the DEI Ambassador for Lambda Theta Alpha. The DEIAmbassador is a consultative role supporting the Board of Directors in developing the Sorority’s efforts around Diversity, Equityand Inclusion. The DEI ambassador will lead efforts to engage our membership in conversations around inclusivity within LTA andfoster collaborative efforts to develop future solutions and initiatives.Four DEI Listening Sessions occurred throughout the year where members participated in facilitateddiscussions about diversity, equity, and inclusion within the sorority. In addition to sharing personalexperiences, members offered policy recommendations for the Board of Directors to consider.Information gathered during these sessions will be an integral part of building the 2022-2026Strategic Plan.NATIONAL HAZING PREVENTION TRAININGNew this year, a national hazing prevention training program wasimplemented, using the Prevent Zone platform, a leader in preventiontraining. The Hazing Prevention 101: Fraternity & Sorority Edition trainingwas required for one representative from each constituency. A total of 147members completed the training and shared the information learned withworkshops at the local level.Annual2021-20228
