Today’s replay is our 38th at Bramall
Lane in the FA Cup. The first was on 21st
December 1889 when we beat Rotherham
Town 2-1. The most recent was our round
four, 1-3 defeat to Preston, on 3rd February
2015. Our home replay record is:

Four of the draws were settled by a
penalty shoot-out, the Blades winning
three (Blackburn 5-3, Coventry 3-1, West
Ham 3-1) and losing one (Arsenal 2-4). The
other four, before penalty shoot-outs, went
to further replays. United eventually won
three and lost one.
The clubs to win a replay here, besides
Preston, are Sheffield Wednesday (3-1,
1953-54) Wolves (4-3, 1949-50 and 2-1,
