resources, computer science, and law, he reports on

and deals with topics like the relation between the
company’s success and satisfaction of the employees,
the importance of visionary leadership, measurement
of an international business culture, or the realisation
of a uniform leadership strategy.

Prof. Dr. Gunther Olesch is CEO at Phoenix Contact
GmbH Co. KG. His areas of responsibility include
personnel management, personnel development,
information technology and law. He has written several
books and over 130 publications concerning topics
including human resources management, management,
and information technology. Prof. Olesch holds
a honorary professorship at university Ostwestfalen
and is a volunteer member of the vocational training
committee BDA. He is also a member of the Advisory
Board of the Human Resources Forum, Chairman of
the Initiative for Employment OWL, and CEO of the
regional employers’ association. In 2009 and 2011 the
magazine Personalmagazin named him one of the 10
leading HR managers in Germany. Since 1989 Gunther
Olesch has worked at Phoenix Contact in Blomberg.
With 11,000 employees, 50 owned sales companies, 30
sales partners worldwide, and a revenue of 1,5 billion
Euro, Phoenix Contact is a leading manufacturer of
electric connection and industrial automation technology.
Phoenix has received various awards for its
excellent human resources management and management
