Jesus College Record 2022

In October, I had the pleasure of standing alongside Dr Henry
Cheng Kar Shun whose transformative philanthropic gift of
£15m allowed us to cut the ribbon on the building that is named
in his father’s honour, and the new Digital Hub named after
Dr Cheng himself. As Director of Development Brittany
Wellner James describes on page 49, invited guests enjoyed a
wonderful afternoon of tours, music, canapés, and drinks,
followed by a candlelit dinner in the Hall. It was a truly
memorable occasion, enriched by great company, and the
exceptional hard work of the College’s staff, who made it such a
success.
The ongoing war in Ukraine prompted an exceptional
fundraising effort from the Jesus community in May, when we
launched the Ukrainian Student Support Fund, in partnership
