SONNING CoE primary school update
Planning and learning to communicate
All at Sonning School, writes Phil Sherwood, headmaster, are
very excited about the discussions around the King Charles
III’s Coronation celebrations in Sonning and Sonning Eye.
Pupils are busy thinking about how they can be involved!
Community is a big part of the village and surrounding areas,
and the school feels that community spirit too.
In the meantime, January has been a month of refocusing,
with lots of learning taking place! 'Our pupils have already
learned so much!' said the headmaster. In particular, the
whole school has been focusing on communication and
oracy in class, and this prompted Year 6 pupils to challenge
themselves by creating travel brochures.
Could you manage the next phase of this exciting
performing arts community project?
Sonning Church of England
Primary School, is seeking someone
to project manage an exciting
performing arts studio building
project for which the school is
currently raising funds.
The Performing Arts Studio's vision
is to promote and deliver rich
experiences and development in
acting, dance, music, song, art and
general cultural appreciation.
PROJECT MANAGER
The new facility will be located
within the school grounds and,
during the day, it will be used by the
school pupils.
In a boost for the whole area,
at weekends, in the evening and
in the school holidays, it will be
available for the wider communities
of Sonning, Charvil, Sonning Eye,
Wargrave, Woodley and Twyford.
The school is seeking a volunteer
to project manage this exciting
opportunity for the community,
The role will include finalising the
planning process and compliance
and then liaising with the governing
body, builders, architects and other
groups to oversee the project.
This is a manageable undertaking,
but would require someone with time
to spare at key times to help oversee
the project.
