When it comes to our beauty....let’s first stress
the importance of OUR. Hair is so important to
the black community. Especially when it
comes to Black Women. Hair is not just a part
of our appearance, it’s a part of our identity.
It’s how we show our personality, our background,
and our beliefs. It allows us to be artistic,
stylish, unique and bold. With every texture,
length and color, these hairstyles span all
the way back to Africa and continues to be the
topic of social, political and culture conversations
surrounding black identity. And as much
as we have influenced and inspired so many
styles and hair cuts today, our identity is being
erased and even threatened.
