Established in 1990, Capital Ortho was
founded by a group of orthopedic surgeons in the
Jackson area. The practice has grown over the
years. They now call Flowood their home base,
with eleven orthopedic surgeons in the practice,
all of whom either grew up in the metro Jackson
area or studied here. All of the physicians were
trained at the University of Mississippi Medical
Center, and maintaining their local ties is
important to each one. That local connection
leads the surgeons at Capital Ortho to provide
a hands-on, personable approach to healthcare.
“Our doctors spend time with the patients,” says
Molly Staley, who has served as Capital Ortho’s
marketing director for the past seven years.
“It’s important to us that our patients feel fully
supported and heard.”
Capital Ortho expanded into Clinton in 2020
with a physical therapy clinic. “We have had a
presence in Clinton for two years,” says Molly.
“We realized there was a real need for specialized
care on the western side of the state. Clinton
serves a whole different market, including
patients who come from Natchez and Vicksburg.”
With the opening of their newest clinic in
Clinton, Capital Ortho is excited to be offering a
new medical model through their partnership
with NewSouth Neurospine. “It’s a joint
partnership,” says Molly.
“The doctors at New South Neurospine offer
something different from Capital Ortho. They
have fantastic physicians. Our doctors primarily
treat hips, shoulders, knees, and other orthopedic
issues. However, we do not have a back surgeon.
Th ough our partnership with NewSouth
Neurospine in Clinton, we’ll have the ability to
treat necks and backs as well. It will be much
easier for our patients to have it all under one
roof. We are excited for this partnership.”
