UTB: Should we get the job
done this season, is there a
genuine feeling of unfinished
business in the Premier
League and a real excitement
about what the future could
hold especially having seen
our last stint amongst the
elite cruelly hampered by the
effects of Covid?
BS: “Obviously I’ve got great
memories of the first season in
the Premier League, finishing
ninth after so long out of the
top-flight was some achievement,
but Covid literally ruined that
campaign, just as it did when
we were relegated the following
term. I remember winning at Old
Trafford against all the odds but
with no fans, it takes the edge of
it. It would be great to be back
up there mixing it with the big
boys for some of the lads that
haven’t experienced it before
and for some of us here it would

be at least the third time we’ve
had the wonderful feeling of
winning promotion with United,
so it would be great to get over
the line and have that challenge
of playing in the best league in
the world again because it is
what we all want to do. Looking
back to when football was
suspended for the first time and
lockdown followed in March
2020, we were set to go
to Newcastle which
would have been some
day out for the fans
at St James Park
and a great place
to play football
with a terrific
atmosphere, but it
was all taken away
from us. Having no
fans, we’ve spoken
about it and highlighted
it before, hurt us more
