Dear Welshpool,
The Welshpool Country Music Festival is only
weeks away. We now need to recruit volunteers to
help make the festival another success. Can you
spare a few hours, a day, a weekend ? Could you
spare some time to help organise some essential
elements of the show ? We need team leaders and
day volunteers to help the show raise money to
keep the Heulwen Trust boats running free trips
along the Montgomery Canal for those less able.
Since the mid 80’s The Heulwen Trust has been
running day trips up and down The Montgomery
Canal. Our narrow boats are specially adapted to
assist wheel chair users on and off the boats and
on board we have easy access toilets and changing
facilities along with simple catering services. Our
annual running cost are met by the income from
the annual Welshpool Country Music Festival. We
provide daily trips entirely free as a result of a
successful annual show. By offering to volunteer
some of your over the week it takes to assemble &
dismantle the show, you will be helping us to
send another boat along the Monty and help put
some smiles on the faces of those less able as well
as the careers and family members who support
them.
